Really is crazy Eric, and even up close it's difficult to tell which is real.

Usually all you had to do was look at a movement to reveal the truth,
but now even the movements look genuine. It's really something sir.

Just for curiosity's sake, I bought what had to be a fake Seamaster 300 Spectre off eBay a few years back (the photos looked bang-on, but everything about the listing screamed 'run away'), knowing I had full purchase protection with PayPal. It showed up a few days later, looking very much like the Seamaster in the video. At a glance, a perfect reproduction, but under close scrutiny, the finishing was super-rough. In the end, there were a litany of small details it got wrong, but the dead giveaway was that the mainspring barrel(s) was located in the wrong spot, and the movement didn't feature the jumping hour that the 8800 should have had.

Was pretty satisfying to present the above to the seller, get my money back, and then have the fake destroyed, and their account removed.

This is pretty shitty, but ultimately, a modern Omega movement is going to be extremely difficult to perfectly fake, and if you buy from a proper seller, this isn't something you'll likely ever have to worry about.
