Gift Ideas for my 40th...

Post by SoCal C4S » Sat Jan 18, 2020 1:46 pm

Hey guys,

So, I’m turning 40 years young this summer (seriously, no one believes me!), and am looking for gift ideas for myself. Would like some **specific** ideas from you all.

Will probably have the party at our hangar with some local friends and those who can “fly in”, so won’t be going to Vegas or anywhere like that to party lol. I know- 1st World problems!

Thanks in advance!

RJ

I have been thinking about getting another one. Would probably get a 997 S or C4S if I went that route.

I’m turning 40 in May and I’m looking to go to Isla Guadalupe to dive with great whites with a couple of buddies.
that's been on my bucket list for a while now. i wish one of those ops would do a combo trip of a couple of days cage diving and then the manta rays. lot of operations do one or the other or both, but not on the same trip.

Also, if you have younger kids, get a nice, classic watch you like (Sub, GMT, PO, Seamaster, Speedy), wear it a lot and then give it to him/her/them when they are older (college graduation, wedding).

I'm turning 40 this year too. Wanted another Rolex but with the current ridiculous prices, I may just buy a motorcycle. Guess it will depend on 2020 Baselworld. A blue Tudor BB58 or a GMT BB58 would make me get a watch.

Call it open. I’m not buying a motorcycle (checked that box long ago- done with that), and while this is a watch forum, other ideas are welcome!

Platinum Day Date 40 with the ice blue dial.

Though really for that money I’d spend two weeks or more in Fiji in true luxury style.

Probably picking up a birth year 16660 or 16800 soon, and the DayDate’s don’t really do it for me. Only blue dial I like is the Sky Dweller, but I don’t think I would wear it lol.

Upscale hookers and blow. Now that's an experience you won't forget... or remember if you do it right.

That sounds awesome.

Don’t forget the first rule of diving with friends and sharks...

If sharks start to get ornery, point them out to your friends and when they turn to look at the shark, give them a little poke with your dive knife before swimming away :salute:

I always wanted a birth year 16750 Pepsi, but for whatever reason finding a birth year has been difficult. Not sure why a birth year appeals to me so much because I actually like the 1675 better... Something about the patina a watch gets in the same number of years as I've been here makes me feel better about my patina lol. There's an idea for you.

Thanks! Birth year Sea Dweller or Submariner is on the short list- just need to move some things in the box first.

That’s a great plan. Mine being 1970 moved me towards Speedyland.

Stuff like this is why Paul is always the only one on his team to make it out alive.

And for all you guys just turning 40. FU. Seriously, FU.
