Great suggestion! Already have a slick Noveske, and thought about having a GAP or Surgeon long gun built, but just don’t shoot that much anymore. Have been through several tricked out Glocks, and a basic stippled frame, upgraded sites and polished internals is enough for me.Joeprez wrote:If you are into it... custom made rifle or gun?

Gift Ideas for my 40th...

Re: Gift Ideas for my 40th...
I feel like I’m turning 21, 25 or 30 again, since this will be the first “milestone” birthday of my adult life where I haven’t been deployed. Anyway, I’m really looking forward to this one!JBZ wrote:And for all you guys just turning 40. FU. Seriously, FU.
Re: Gift Ideas for my 40th...
Happy birthday! I’m just angry that I skied a moderate trail today and my legs were exhausted halfway down.

I can still keep up with my 13 year old. My 16 year old is a far better skier than I ever was. He wants to ski Ripcord at Mt Snow because, and I quote, “someone died skiing that trail.”Ryeguy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 4:44 pmHa! I hear you!
I’m with my family at Killington this weekend and am (moderately) proud I can still out-ski my kids.
I know my days are numbered though...
Re: Gift Ideas for my 40th...
That’s awesome! I grew up skiing Mt Snow. I think I’ve skied every slope on that hill.JBZ wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 4:47 pmI can still keep up with my 13 year old. My folks didn’t ski, but my best friend’s family would take me to Haystack every weekend. We did that throughout high school.
I’m closing in on 50 and can still get down pretty much anything at Killington. Now how good I look getting down the hill....that’s a different question.
Re: Gift Ideas for my 40th...
For 50, I doubled down. Two week Alaska vacation. Denali got a few days, talkeetna for a few, and a 9 day small ship cruise out of Sitka. Was a great, memorable trip. Highly recommend a small ship cruise in SE Alaska. We had a total of 54 passengers, a great bar, great food, and lots of interesting stops. And a lot of interesting passengers to get to know. Ate with someone new almost every meal.
Then an aqua terra 8500 in white (which I need to get serviced).

Look at Sharkdiver. I did that trip with them 10 years ago, and would go back with them again.

I know a guy with a collection of nutsack pics and if he doesn’t end up sending them to his AD, I’m pretty sure you could get a good deal.
Definitely a memorable birthday experience.

RJ, sticking with Andrea's experience thing. Is there maybe somewhere
in the world you have wanted to visit? Or going on avacation to?
That would be very cool, and memorable.
Happy 40th by the way ahead of time to you !

Re: Gift Ideas for my 40th...
That’s a solid suggestion! But I’ve traveled the world many times over, so more big trips aren’t really in the plans for me. Plus I’m Mr. Mom to my daughter most of the time, as my wife is a commercial pilot and travels a lot, so wouldn’t really work even if I wanted it.
I am thinking about experiences though. Might try to attend some shows within a few hundred miles of me in the MidWest, or maybe go rent an A-frame for a few days when my wife is in town. I also realllllllly want to build an A-frame at some point, so might be worth getting some ideas first hand.

I just turned 40. Got myself a 25 year old... just saying
Re: Gift Ideas for my 40th...
Definitely not interested in that. My “few years younger than me” wife is more than enough. Besides, not even sure what the hell I would talk to about with someone 15 years younger than me.TIMUR wrote:I just turned 40. Got myself a 25 year old... just saying

Awesome sir, and having multiple experiences like you are planning sounds phenoemanal !
Especially when you will be sharing whatever they might be with your family.
Best wishes, and keep us posted on what you decide if you want, or can.
