Discoloration on Pelagos bezel?
Discoloration on Pelagos bezel?
Has anyone with an OG 2 liner noticed any discoloration/yellowing on their Pelagos bezel?
I’ve owned mine since 2016 and have started noticing this for the past year or so.
I’ve been debating with myself often whether maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me but I’m almost sure I see some yellowing from the pip to the 15 marker on my Pelagos
It’s hard to capture but you get the gist of it (or maybe I’m seeing things )
Another thing I noticed is the bezel lume on the in house models is “flatter” meaning I can’t see the bezel lume paint like I do on my 2 liner. I see the gloss on my lume paint and while done extremely well it’s not absolutely flat and “machine perfect” like the lume on the in house models.
I’d read about lume falling out of the bezel, but never this.
I haven’t spilled anything on my watch; haven’t dived with it either. I’ve washed the bezel with soap and warm water and still no change.
I’d appreciate if y’all may be able to shed some light on this especially those that own the ETA model.

That stinks. Some things from Bare Necessities just don’t wash away easily.

Maybe in 50 years you can sell it for a premium due to the creamy patina? Kidding aside it does look yellow/stained. Honestly though, if you plan on keeping it and it doesn't drive you nuts, maybe enjoy the Wabi?
Re: Discoloration on Pelagos bezel?
That wouldn’t bother me in the least. Looks good to me, actually.

I’ve owned 10 gen I and didn’t experience that. But it wouldn’t bother me.
If it does you send it to the service center

If that had been the case at least I’d know why it looks this way!toxicavenger wrote:looks like it has had some beard oil poured on it! lol
Doesn’t necessarily bother me but I’m genuinely curious why it’s looking like this. This bezel can’t patina...can it?KidKeith wrote:Maybe in 50 years you can sell it for a premium due to the creamy patina? Kidding aside it does look yellow/stained. Gen as in genuine? I’ve sent the watch to Rolex twice for movement adjustments about 2 years ago and I’m sure they would’ve said something if it was a counterfeitJeep99dad wrote:I’ve owned 10 gen I and didn’t experience that. But it wouldn’t bother me.

I dunno man, they're pretty relaxed when it comes to non-Gen stuff, I hear they fix it and return it all the time ...

Funny
He means Gen ONE, not genuine lol
On subject, I’ve had 3 or four and one of them had the same yellow tint on the bezel..

Had it on a cheap hexa with BGW9. I assumed it was weak or no uv protectant. Can’t imagine how Tudor could let that happen.
Re: Discoloration on Pelagos bezel?
Had 3 Generation 1 and hadn’t noticed.

Sorry Ralphy, maybe a call to RSC for advice.

Re: Discoloration on Pelagos bezel?
I know the lacquer used to seal the lumen on ceramic bezels can yellow with age / exposure.
I’m guessing this is what you are seeing here.
