What is your last watch purchase of 2019?

Post by Axelay2003 » Tue Dec 31, 2019 10:21 am

I thought it would be cool to see DWC members' last acquisition of 2019.

Here is mine: The Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope 100 Jahre Bauhaus.

Was on waiting list at 3 AD's for 18 months, none of which ever came through - But Rafael did! So last one, likely for quite a while.

Image

Still would sell a few to get a SS BLRO @msrp, but that's highly unlikely, probably ever. I did walk into Fourtané here in Carmel yesterday, where they had zero SS sport Rolexes as expected, but they did have one of these in the display case (it actually looked pretty good, but I would never own a gold watch and would never buy any watch that expensive). Still, it was quite attractive in person.

I saw one of the full RG GMTs in NYC along with the TT version - both were drool worthy.

No purchases for me in 2019, but I did sell the AP RO 15400 and put a deposit on an Rolex 116619LB (smurf) with my AD.

Last and only watch I bought last year and it didn't last 2 months with me. Seiko SPB107 Topper LE.

Even though it was a great looking watch I just couldn't come to terms I paid $1000 for a watch with that 6r15 turd in it.

Plus I have a MM300......Image

Good point - I bought one too and sold it without wearing it to raise funds for the WG Smurf. Nice looking watch but something I couldn't put my finger on made me know it wasn't a keeper. Probably the value proposition, but also the strap - although that's an easy fix.

My last one was October 4th. And I haven’t looked at other watches since.

Last one for me in 2019. The search for a 1980 birth year Sub or Sea Dweller starts after New Years.

Picked this up from Carlo last week. Never cared much for regular natos, but I've developed an appreciation for the single pass type. Have a single pass tan leather nato ordered, and a Para Canvas from Steveo is on the way, too.

End of the year, decided to try something unlike anything I’ve had in quite a while

Nice. I was tempted by that one when I saw it pop up on recon.
