can't do those hands.
and why is it the last couple of "bond" versions enlarged the logo like that? meh. i mean, i could live w/that, it's much more annoying in a big photo than on the wrist, but it's dumb.
but the hands...

I have to disagree on your points here.Henryj wrote:Too much of a mish mash for me. It wants to look vintage with the beige lume and the broad arrow, but it’s got a ceramic bezel, the He valve, modern Seamaster hands, and that ungrippy bezel. Don’t get me started on the bracelet or the no-date.
The hands are derived from the older SMP hands.
HE valve has been around a while.
Bezel is aluminum, not ceramic.

I need to have more time with a Daytona then... I've felt underwhelmed by it every time I've saw one (haven't seen one of the new ones in the flesh). Does the SS models have gold hands and indices surrounding?JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 9:55 amAbsolutely, and I own both.
Omega / Tudor / Rolex / Sinn / Doxa / Seiko

I’m with the minority...love the aesthetic (although I would prefer sword hands). Grade 2 Ti is significantly softer than Grade 5, and thus more likely to suffer deep scratches and dings. What I can’t wrap my head around is the ridiculous pricing. How is this watch $1k MORE than the ceramic cased Seamaster (pic from Omega).
Re: Coming in 2020. Omega 007 Watch
Looks ok, but not at twice the $ the regular version goes for. Mesh look somewhat nice, but does not go with the watch. Would look better on the stock bracelet and probably even better on the stock rubber. For a "Bond" version, it's one of the least goofy looking ones, so it has that going for it.

Yup, you’re right, although I tend to think sword hands when I think older Seamaster. My very first good watch was a 2531, so if I start thinking of those hands as “vintage” Seamaster, where does that leave me? Overall, there still seems to be something a bit off on how it comes together, at least in the pics. I’m betting it looks better in real life, though.hoppyjr wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 1:57 pmI have to disagree on your points here.Henryj wrote:Too much of a mish mash for me. If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

The SS version has the same style hands and indices as every other SS Rolex, but the finishing looks a little nicer.Joeprez wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 2:17 pmI need to have more time with a Daytona then... To me, the Speedmaster is a $3,000 watch and the Daytona is a $9,000 watch. That’s about what I paid, I was comfortable with it at the time, and nothing in my ownership experience has changed that.
Neither are worth what people pay now, and that’s true about almost every single non-used-modern-Tudor watch available.

No to mesh. No to skeleton hands. Eh to faux patina. And I've never liked the nubbed outer bezel on these. Solid no from me. Oh and I've never seen a minute of any James Bond film. I'm weird.
