Where's my flying car?

It's actually better we don't have them. There would be a worldwide epidemic of spinal injuries.

That is something sir ! ..Didn't even remember that about Blade Runner.
It's funny how we always picture the future in a certain way, and it never
seems to get there. Or end up how we think.
I mean we are way past Space 1999, and 2001: A Space Odyssey too !
Like everyone is saying, we should definitely have those flying cars, and
hover boards. ..Well at least we have our phones.

I wouldn’t say we didn’t get to the future that we see in the movies. Maybe no flying cars or skateboards, but we have accomplished many of the simple gadgets. Cell phones for example (Star Trek communicators). Your cell phone is more of a computer than phone, orders of magnitude better than what we had to send guys to the moon. How about those “pocket laboratories” that we use at the refinery? One is a chunky little gadget clipped to my collar that warns me about hydrogen sulfide, hydrocarbon vapor, carbon monoxide and oxygen levels? We also have a “PMI Gun” that tells use the percentage of alloy metals in things like piping (percentage of manganese, copper, chrome, etc. in steels). Not too long ago that had to be done in a lab.

Quantum teleportation may not be far off. For non living stuff at least.
