Guys --- Over the weekend I had some time to shoot the prototype watch a variety of different straps. I photographed the watch on the Karlskrona gray Nato with custom hardware, A black rubber Iso style dive strap and a black and gray Bond Nato. (I had to dig through my strap box to see what I had in 20mm straps). I'll be posting pics of the different strap variations over the next couple of days.

Here's some pics of the Hemlig on the Karlskrona gray Nato. Nice touch with the custom etched Karlskrona logo on the hardware.

Here's several more pics so you guys can visualize what the watch looks like on an Iso style rubber dive strap.

How is the lug gap on the Isofrane? That was a big problem on my previous Karlskrona.

I agree, I didn't like the gap on the other watches. The Hemlig has very minimal gap. This one has perfect fit with an ISO IMO.

After wearing the Hemlig on and off for the past week I have to say this is the best offering from Karlskrona to date. Blasted finish is executed very nicely, the ceramic bezel insert is crisply etched, the bezel click action is firm with precise clicks, the crown screws down smoothly and the lume is very bright. The watch wears very comfortably and sits very stable on the wrist. Also, the lug pin hole location has been adjusted so that there is no case / strap gap.

One thing I'm still up in the air about is the "ghost" logo on the dial. I'm not sure if I like the blacked out look. IMO it gives the watch a generic kind of appearance. The Karlskrona trident logo is such a great looking logo, I would really like to see it on the dial to give the watch some branding identity.

Here is the last set of photos I have. I put the prototype on one of my 20mm Bond Nato straps. IMO this is the best look yet! The black and gray of the strap looks great with the blasted finish of the case and the Bond style Nato visually works nicely with the vintage military diver styling of the watch.

Great pictures, and I'd agree about the best offering. I was also thinking the same thing about the logo. Maybe if it could be a match to the bead blasting color???

The ghosted logo is a much cleaner look, which I prefer, especially in this style watch. There is another logo on the crown.

agree, cleaner look... like the original Benrus dials

I hope the crown can get recessed quite a bit from the proto

New Karlskrona Hemlig Prototype - Studio Photos and Review

I sure wish the bezel was matte finish like M@ Wu did on his Sea-Dweller.

Matte would also fit the character of this overall design.

Edit: a glossy, shiny ceramic insert on this watch is like a warrior dressed in black BDUs, painted face, but wearing a bit old gold chain.

Or instead of a gold chain, parade black dress boots?

I think it looks like a winner...

And I like the date. For some reason, any no dates I own just sit unworn

Yes, polished parade boots.

Hey, send me your no-date watches and in trade I’ll send you an exotic Eastern European lady who will fulfill your every desire.

(It’s actually Terry all dressed up, but he does a good impression of both Bullwinkle’s Boris & Natasha).

I, too, am a fan of the no date. Will this be available with a 12-hour bezel, like the original, or just the dive counter?

I can’t tell from the pics you posted, but is this a true asymmetrical case like the original Benrus type I?

Is it weird that I like this more than the MKii version?
