Hamilton's Khaki Aviation Pilot x Schott NYC

Post by AtomicTom » Wed Oct 30, 2019 9:32 am

Not sure if everyone had time to see this Hamilton Khaki Aviation
Pilot x Schott NYC already.

Hamilton was chosen by the U.S. Army to produce reliable watches
during WWII. While Schott NYC was chosen to create quality flight
jackets.

The new watch will have a 46mm stainless steel case, 200 meter
WR, AR coated sapphire crystal, khaki green dial with light green
SLN coated hands, and markers, nice leather strap, and caliber
H-30 Swiss automatic. Plus special Schott NYC leather case.

Some pictures for you...

The day/date looks great. Stellar design work.

46mm is silly in that design.

It's supposed to be an affordable version of the IWC Big Pilot I suspect. Way too big for me, regardless.

I really like this version.
Stan, don’t you know the first law of physics? Anything that’s fun costs at least eight dollars”
-- Eric Cartman

“To absent friends, lost loves, old gods, and the season of mists; and may each and every one of us always give the devil his due.”
― Neil Gaiman, The Sandman

I bought a cheap watch from a crazy man
Floating down canal
It doesn't use numbers or moving hands
It always just says now
Now you may be thinking that I was had
But this watch is never wrong
And If I have trouble the warranty said
Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On

I dislike any watch with skeleton hands so that's a no for me.

I'm usually of the same opinion, but that peek-a-boo hour hand that doesn't hide the hour numeral is pretty clever.

It's a nice looking watch right guys?!

Probably would be perfect at 40-43mm, but I guess like Jeff said,
they are aiming for that Big Pilot feel. ..Oh, and another thing
that was interesting was how the dial seemed to look so different
at times guys. Seeming matte one second, and sunray the next.

Thought the strap, and packaging was very cool also. 8-)

Obviously I’m in the minority, but I just don’t see it.

Sure sure ... :gayumbrella:

It's almost like the watch is meant to be smaller and the movement isn't big enough for that behemoth :fro:

They’ve been making the black dial version of this for like 20 years. I think it’s 42mm and 46mm.
