Ebay Moron/Douchebag/F**k Tard

Post by Steve O. » Wed Oct 16, 2019 11:05 pm

Sorry for the rant. If you don't want hear a grown man whine, please move on... :raised:

I just had the worst experience I've ever had with a waste of space piece of shit ebay buyer. I won't bore everyone with all the details, but sufice to say, this shitbag took up my time last night trying to beat me out of money, continuously asking for free shit, and free overnight shipping. I hate people who want something for nothing. Should have told him to piss off.

Although I knew better, we finally struck a deal on my terms, with him paying shipping. So he gets the watch today and guess what? He wants to return it because he says the seconds hand fell off. Uh-huh. It was fine when I sent it, and I package my watches very well. At first I declined to refund his money and the a'hole threatens me with a PayPal dispute. I don't respond well to threats, but decided to cut my losses and be done with him.

WTF is wrong with some people? Been doing this a long time. Sometimes you get hit with the shit stick. The possibility of being taken advantage of pisses me off to no end. Need to take my meds. :angryfire:

It's because their Mommy told them they were never wrong, it's not your fault, and could do whatever they wanted when growing up.

Only time I ever haggle price with a eBay seller is when they have make offer. Some times the seller a a-hole like one who had make offer so I make one he turns me down and counter offer a lot more than my offer. Turn his ass down. It stays for sell for a while later he lowers it more than my offer he can stick it. Some one else bought it. He lost money not taking my offer. eBay a crap shoot for buyers and sellers. Only watch I bought all year was at the mwr forum px sells section with out the bull shit of eBay.

Not taking the opposing side, but here's the picture Paul sent me of the Magrette I sold to him.

Sorry Steve. I know you didn't need that added extra stress.

I mean all you wanted to do is what you evidently have been
doing for years, and all of the sudden everything hits the fan.
Well at least things didn't get any worse, and sort of worked
out, and there weren't any further disputes.

One other positive, or cool thing is how it evidently hasn't
happened to you that often sir. So there's that. :)

P.S. Matt, holy cow, look at that ! :o Crazy stuff.

I'll admit that it is possible that the hand may have come off during shipping, but I bet Paul didn't act like a complete dick and demand that you refund his money. This guy's arrogance and attitude throughout the entire transaction is what got me fired up

One thing I have learned ( got a reminder a few weeks ago) that when someone haggles the hell out of you on a watch they are trying to justify the purchase in their head. 9 out of 10 times they really do not want to watch. so do not waste your time.

Totally agree, selling here whenever possible avoids dealing with all the grief you had to endure.

You're absolutely right Terry. I knew this one was coming back for one reason or another, yet I still did it. Dumb.

My response to hagglers:

I am not a flea market, pawn shop, or garage sale.
I do not need to sell this watch to pay my bills.
You may enjoy haggling; I do not.
My best price is the one I listed. I’ll lower it when the market tells me I priced it too high.
If your offer pisses me off, I’ll die with the watch before I sell it to you at any price.

Check PP refund policy. I think they may have updated it such that fees are no longer refunded to the payment recipient (you).

I thought that only applies to businesses.

^ They sure can. I remember thinking how in the hell can that guy make a claim so long after receiving your watch, and make up some bullshit to get his money back. It's amazing the crap some people will pull.

Buyer’s remorse. First thing I though of when I read your post, Steve. I’m fortunate (touch wood) that even though all of my trades, sales, and purchases have been international, living downunder, I’ve never had an encounter like this.

I really got a sense that it was buyer's remorse and I called him on it. It took him nearly twelve hours after the watch was delivered to contact me. He was pretty quick to demand a refund (key word demand), then the threat of reporting it to ebay and PayPal. He wrote that I should "think about my actions overnight, then do the right thing." Like I'm just being a petulant child. That really pissed me off, and I dug in further. In the end I just decided that it wasn't worth it and agreed to take the watch back.

He sent the watch back via FedEx Business (on his company's dime) all the while bitching about shipping cost. AND here's the kicker - the package was due to arrive yesterday but tracking says it's in limbo somewhere. I tried calling FedEx, but they will only allow the shipper to reroute an address if incorrect. So I had to swallow my pride and contact him and ask if he will call FedEx. No word yet.

I've been doing this for nearly twenty-five years, and up until now, have been very lucky. I know it can happen anywhere, but I will never, ever, ever sell on ebay again. Would like to shitcan PayPal too, but just too convenient. Well, until something like this happens...

I will never never never sell anything on eBay. I used to, but a decade ago their policies began evolving to favor the buyer over the seller (and common sense), and horror stories became too frequent.
