MKII Service experience

Post by hoppyjr » Sun Sep 08, 2019 9:15 am

This is one of those “hate the sin, love the sinner” situations.....

I am not a fan of Yao’s business practices, but his service vendor is fantastic.

I found the bezel on the new-to-me Paradive (Gen 3) to be more loose than I prefer. Knowing that MKII wouldn’t send me a new spring, I emailed their service guy. I got a reply by the next day and had a reasonable estimate of $35. I shipped the watch and had it on my wrist 7 days later.

They either tightened or replaced the bezel spring. It’s nice and firm now, and it still lines up. The service guy (Jim) emailed me when he received my watch, when it was repaired, and when it was shipped back. The service experience was absolutely stellar and unexpected.

Keep in mind I didn’t buy it new and there is no warranty to me. No customer relationship to maintain.

I’m impressed with Jim the service guy.

Jim is a good dude and been around a long time before he started with MK2. So good to hear he is still on top of his game.

good to know... I'd assumed the Mkll servicing experience was as dismal as the purchasing experience

btw, nice Gen3, hoppy

Not that it’s anything new or innovative, but that’s a good looking watch.

It does look good, but I’ve met Hop (still owe you for dinner!) and his wrist is definitely thicker than mine. The way that watch wears on Hop suggests it might wear large on me.

That's a nice watch. I hardly ever wear my Blackwater, but I can't seem to part with it. I wonder if I'd get more use out of a Paradive.

I never do dinner...just coffee. It also goes without saying I pass on the cream.

The paradive is bigger if I recall.

Yes. I had a Blackwater and found it too small, but that was back in my Panerai days. I could wear one today.
