B&R 03-92 Diver Black Matte

Post by spring-diver » Mon Aug 26, 2019 1:01 pm

B&R released their latest SS diver back in 2017 based on their iconic square case. This was released at Basel 2019 along with a bronze case green dialed version.

I stumbled across this matte ceramic beauty the other day while doing some research looking for an all black dive watch.

Like the SS version, it’s a 42mm x 42mm x 12mm case size. But this version is a matte ceramic case & bezel!

Movement is the SW300 so it should perform well.

MSRP: $3,995 but can be found for $3,150 online. Not to bad considering a full ceramic case & bezel. It should prove to be very scratch resistant.

The dial is very Seikoish, which resonates very well with me because I love a lot of Seiko’s designs.

I really like this original style handset and the lume looks excellent even though the orange lume doesn’t pop. B&R claims it’s so the diver can focus on just the dive minutes.

Image

Being just 12mm thin, it looks like it sits nice in flat on the wrist.

Case details are very nice Image

With the screwed down case back, it’s rated at 300m.

The overall design looks very compact and is probably very comfortable on the wrist.

Design and material wise, I think B&R nailed it with this edition.

So what do you guys think about it?

I like this one and the stainless version, but I feel like they may wear big because of the very wide strap. It will certainly stand out.

I like the looks of it, but there are several others that I’d spend $3k+ on first.

I tried one of the ss version on. Felt really big. Quality was there though.

It's a big 42mm for sure, but I'm a big fan of these new ceramic cased B&Rs. Shot it at Basel, and again at Couture – loved it both times.

They are surprisingly comfortable on the wrist. I have the regular BR03 in black pvd and love it. Tried the black ceramic diver on at the BR boutique in London. The watch looks and feels great. I would get this version over the SS.
At just over £3k there are plenty of other watches to choose so I guess you gotta like Bell and Ross but it is good value for full ceramic

I appreciate the input and I do feel it’s a good value for full ceramic. I’m really looking forward to seeing this in the flesh.

I was really interested in these for awhile, but the date wheel kills it for me.

I finally found these photos on my phone.

This was back in 2017 at Feldmar Watches.
It does wear large for a 42mm but I’m ok with it.

Its funny, but with so many people wearing Apple watches these days, seeing 42-44mm square watches on someone's wrist doesn't look odd to me anymore.

Still not a design that speaks to me, but I see the appeal.
