Re: Tropic Straps
I just got an email from them with a 20% discount code for returning Synchron customers. If you PM me, I'll share it with my DWC friends.
No, it's not Tourettes.
Re: Tropic Straps
in the email I got the word "Tropic" is followed by trademark and registered symbols, so the repro makers using that in the name have been warned
from the description, it is a new rubber compound:
i'll await Mike's assessment, and enjoy my gecko "troplick" 'til then
from the description, it is a new rubber compound:
also 20% discount code for returning syncron customers is a nice gesture on newly released product (guess paying full price for all those ISOs from swissland paid off in the end )the TROPIC® name is back to dive again, using a new and proprietary vulcanized rubber formula optimized to deliver unmatched wearer comfort and quality.
i'll await Mike's assessment, and enjoy my gecko "troplick" 'til then

Just received the 20% off email too. Curious to find out if the straps are as good as they look in the photos.

Re: Tropic Straps
I’m wondering if it’s just the same material as an isofrane.

Since I’ve never seen a real one I can’t argue that, but the Watchgecko is pretty darned comfortable.demer03 wrote:Let’s be honest....that ain’t no tropic. Real tropic are outstanding for comfort.andrema wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 1:48 pm$34, no discount

Re: Tropic Straps
Apparently I was right and it’s the same compound use in an isofrane but as a tropic strap.

Re: Tropic Straps
I guess I am different because I can't get into the tropic. Hell I do not like them at all.

Re: Tropic Straps
I'll wait for the reviews to get posted on this strap. If they are positive (and I suspect they will be if it's the fantastic isofrane material in the tropic design), then I'll order a 22mm black for my Eterna Super Kontiki re-edition when they are available at the end of October
Re: Tropic Straps
Found a link on WUS to Meraud tropic strap and it looks promising. I haven't found any definitive reviews yet, but they claim to use very flexible rubber, comes in two lengths (112 x 73, 125 x 85), comes in black and blue, and is less expensive than the new Tropic strap @ 45 euros. Only comes in 20mm.

Re: Tropic Straps
Uncle Seiko has a tropic style strap just as good for 39 bucks 79 seems high for what you get. I have the 19mm uncle seiko tropic on my Seiko 6105 and comfortable you can get 2 for the price of one. Not much of a discount only a few bucks wtf. I bet some one bought the name tropic or reregistered the name tropic since its been out of business a very long time. Just like some boutique watch co brought back watch co names long gone.
