Long time lurker
Hi folks,
I’m embarrassed that I posted a WTB as my first post.
Please do forgive me.
I’ve been lurking around here for years reading and learning. I’m on a few other watch forums but mainly started out doing my own custom watch builds with vintage Panerai themed watches.
Gradually the vintage builds became vintage watch purchases and so forth.
I like to tinker quite a bit and over the past years my collection has really begun to take shape with a variety of military and dive watches.
Most recently is a pair of dive watches I feel lucky to have stumbled on, I’m in love with them:
Thanks in advance for the welcome.
I’m working on learning more about the Ploprof so I can get it properly restored.

Welcome. Cool watches but, as was pointed out on the other thread, the dial on the PloProf is upside down. Or the case is upside down. Or, well, you get the point.
Edit: see Mark's (andrema) info on your other page regarding this sort of PP set up.

It was purchase by me this way and I’m in search of a correct date wheel to flip it back the “correct” lefty direction.
I’ll open up the case and check out the inner stamp to see the engraving directions and use that to guide me on what to do next.
Otherwise incoming is a modern blue Omega strap and buckle as well as an orange Borealis version of the similar strap.
If only I could find a spare link for the original bracelet and purchase a mesh!

I would buy the real thing instead of a Borealis...it is a Ploprof for God's sake...Civic4982 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 12:52 pmYes,JBZ wrote:Welcome. My favorite PloProf strap is the vintage ISO. So comfy. New ones are way too thick.
Re: Long time lurker
I’d love one. Was offered one for....... £1000matt.wu wrote:My favorite PloProf strap is the vintage ISO. So comfy. New ones are way too thick.
Too pricey for me so.

Yup, got a blue version of the modern iteration on the isofrane incoming. Will try it out.
I’ve heard good things about the Borealis so I’m trying one in Orange.

Re: Long time lurker
I have an oem navy "isotype" omega for ploprof, but found it too stiff, so wear it on a navy current iso. have a 20mm vintage black iso, and love it on pretty much anything i've tried it on, so i get that the blue for ploprof would be ideal, but i too struggle to justify the asking prices.
Re: Long time lurker
oh, and welcome!
Re: Long time lurker
Terry’s ISO’s are great but I prefer isofranes keepers. So I do a little mix and match.

Re: Long time lurker
I think eventually I’ll buy the Isofrane in Blue but I have decided to spend the extra bit of change to try this OEM version even though I’m sure you are 100% right that the stiffness will be notable.jtbenson wrote:I have an oem navy "isotype" omega for ploprof, but found it too stiff, so wear it on a navy current iso. have a 20mm vintage black iso, and love it on pretty much anything i've tried it on, so i get that the blue for ploprof would be ideal, but i too struggle to justify the asking prices.
Really awesome you’ve got a vintage black isofrane. I have an old tropic in 20mm and it’s rather comfy on my 20mm watches. I’d love to find one in 24mm and orange/blue

Welcome to the forum. Like you I only collect vintage watches mainly military issue but some civilian stuff also. Like vintage watches with the cool factor but buy less these days due to there not as cheap as they use to be. Do like your Rolex sea dweller.

the “she or he” part is always a gamble, especially with weed legal in Colorado.matt.wu wrote:Statement so unintentionally spot on.Civic4982 wrote:Who is Terry and does she or he make a 24mm version?nweash wrote:Terry’s ISO’s are great but I prefer isofranes keepers. So I do a little mix and match.
