Interesting story, but this link on the news story's page makes me wonder about some people in Canada's sanity:

I feel sorry for the lady trying to go into business for herself - and that was her first customer..
Re: At least we know where all of the Rolexes are going
Haha I saw this on the news yesterday and when I saw all the rolex watches in the table I laughed and said the same thing “that’s where they all went”

I realize Andrew is joking, but I do think that a nontrivial amount of Rolex (and AP and PP) watches are used as money laundering devices. Nobody would look at you twice if you traveled with three or four watches (worth anywhere from $40,000-$400,000) in your bag. You could never do that with cash.

I thought all the Rolex watches were being “safeguarded” inside hooker vaginas. I was about to start “shopping” at those “boutiques” in hopes of finding a Submariner that was forgotten way in the back.

See also Jaquet Droz, Franck Mueller, etc etc. How else do these brands stay in business?JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2019 10:57 amI realize Andrew is joking, but I do think that a nontrivial amount of Rolex (and AP and PP) watches are used as money laundering devices. Did you check “in the back”? That’s where the hard to get stuff is often kept.
