Q Timex 1979 Reissue
Have you guys seen this one? Timex reissue faithful recreation of the 1979 original.
38mm quartz and looks very cool. In the UK £159 and if you sign up can get 15% discount. I am in for one of these as soon as they are available

curious how one sizes that bracelet?
Re: Q Timex 1979 Reissue
Is it a GMT or is the 24hr bezel just for show?

bezel rotates both directions but does not ratchet, not sure if that means it's also not hour indexed?

Oh yes, that def slides to adjust. Reminds me of all the digital watches I got through in the 80s. I am looking forward to getting onejtbenson wrote:found this pic on the timex site, which seems to show one side of the clasp "slides" to adjust length, maybe??

That's cool as hell. Like a cheap Rolex OQ.
Re: Q Timex 1979 Reissue
Same sliding clasp as the cheap eBay mesh bracelets. Nothing innovative but it worksjtbenson wrote:found this pic on the timex site, which seems to show one side of the clasp "slides" to adjust length, maybe??
Many will register, few will last
Re: Q Timex 1979 Reissue
Just realized it's a 12 hour bezel. No coffee this morning...jtbenson wrote:bezel rotates both directions but does not ratchet, not sure if that means it's also not hour indexed?

Re: Q Timex 1979 Reissue
It's clearly inspired by a well-known watch, but that's as it was from when it was first released. Part of Timex's thing was bringing popular, expensive watch designs to the masses, so I appreciate the history.
I might be a buyer at $100 or less, but not at almost $200. Maybe it will be cheaper on Amazon.
According to the Timex.com website, the initial batch is sold out.

Can't get enough of these Jeremy !
They just have such a neat vintage feel with them from the case design to
the bracelet, and look really well done. ..There is even a battery hatch !
Looks like Timex really hit it out of the park with these. So cool !
Thank you sir !!!

Re: Q Timex 1979 Reissue
There's a million of these things available on the 'Bay for anywhere between $250 and $400. And up.
Pretty disgusting. I wish Timex would stop with the "special edition reissue" stuff and just start sending them to Kohls and JC Penney with the rest of their lines.

I'm not even willing to buy one out of the states.
If they become available again in Canada i may pick one up.

Re: Q Timex 1979 Reissue
I grabbed one to check out. It’s like 192 after tax. I’ll sell it for cost on here if I don’t end up wanting it.
Re: Q Timex 1979 Reissue
I believe the appropriate math is:
Cost minus BOD hookup minus “constant flipper” hookup equals $125
Thanks in advance
