If you actually look at all the design elements and the package overall I think it's pretty thoughtfully done - borderline too much stuff going on, but I think it just hangs together. I imagine it will look quite good in person. Nice that they, hopefully, took some of the purchase for speculation/profit dynamic out with the production numbers. Hopefully being the operative word...

Of course anyone who doesn't care for the original or space stuff in general was never going to like it, but who cares.

The only thing that is weird to me is a co-axial manual wind movement - I don't quite know why, perhaps bc I think the whole coax thing was a bit of smoke and mirrors that doesn't really deliver anything. I didn't even know it existed for their hand crankers.

Have to agree with Anthony, they really put a lot of thought into this one,
and went out of their way to make it extra special. ..

Am thinking it's probably unbelievable in person, and the details are much
more subdued, and elegant. ..So many times the size of the pictures makes
details seem so bold, or even cheesy, but you can tell this watch would be
terrific in person. Out of this world actually !

Thanks a ton for the look Jay !!!

Would have been best just w the lunar module on the front and footstep in the back which clearly would represent how one went from one to the other

Maybe they'll do an Apollo 13 Speedy with an inscription, "Aw, shit! We're screwed!"
No, it's not Tourettes.

Remember vividly as a almost 5 year old watching the landing, I'd love to get one of these as a purely emotional purchase. Not for resale or investment opportunity. Glad they're not making only 50 of these too...

I was able to see it this past weekend albeit behind glass at an event.

The greybdial is quite striking but overall I am glad that I removed myself from the waitlist so another fan can have a go.

I still prefer my old one.

I saw it in person, too. Liked it but just another recent Speedy LE in my book. Prefer my 3570.50... If there weren't billions of conventional speedys in circulation I would think they'd increase in value with all the LE madness, but the regular speedy renditions are still where it's at for me.

That said, nothing has changed in my book with SS LEs... The Apollo-Soyuz meteorite is still king in my book and attainable.

If you yearn for a PM speedy head-only without paying $50k, the WG 3689.30.31 is still where it's at and can be had at $10k or so if you can find one.

BUT I must admit I would club a baby seal to death for a 50th YG on bracelet with Onyx. I really like that one.

The Apollo-Soyuz is pretty expensive, but the recent Olympic knock off is much cheaper if you can stand the lack of plastic crystal.
