JLC Announces 8 Year Warranty Program

Post by logan2z » Mon May 06, 2019 7:55 pm

It sounds like it's retroactive to existing in-warranty watches as well.

You may be SOL:

When the watch comes back from service worse than when it went in (twice!) that eight year warranty will come in handy.

Impressive.

Only warranty in the industry that is longer is Kobold. Lol.
Stan, don’t you know the first law of physics? Anything that’s fun costs at least eight dollars”
-- Eric Cartman

“To absent friends, lost loves, old gods, and the season of mists; and may each and every one of us always give the devil his due.”
― Neil Gaiman, The Sandman

I bought a cheap watch from a crazy man
Floating down canal
It doesn't use numbers or moving hands
It always just says now
Now you may be thinking that I was had
But this watch is never wrong
And If I have trouble the warranty said
Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On

I can't think of a single brand that hasn't done that to someone that I know. Rolex, Omega, Sinn, AP, Patek, IWC, Panerai, etc. They all screw people over during service.

I’ve had three Richemont brands each do that to me; Panerai, IWC, and JLC. Each time the common denominator was their Texas service center. I’ve learned my lesson.

On the other hand....I’ve never experienced a single problem with and Rolex or Omega factory service.

Small sample size. I think they all suck to one extent or another and any brand could send back a mess. There are tons of horror stories on TRF about Rolex.

Harshmellow has a nice ring to it. Of all the major brands, I think I’ve heard the least complaints anit Omega USA and Geneva.
