LVMH donating 200 million Euro to Notre Dame

I suppose someone will find some way to turn this into something negative, but seems like quite a gesture to me.

That's a very generous gift. Good on them!

Now, for the knee-jerk naysayers who are struggling to come up with something negative to say, here are a few suggestions.

1. Would they donate 200M Euro to rebuild a burnt mosque?
2. Why don't they donate 200M Euro to feed the poor?
3. Why don't they donate 200M Euro to fund the building of a border wall?

As long as the rebuilt design incorporates a massive HUBLOT at multiple points in the structure, I'm 100% behind this.

I will be the negative one. With 1800 churches vandalized in two years in that country I am having hard time believing this was just a accident. And agree with Rush when I saw that church on fire it was metaphor for on what it is happening in Europe and that donated money will just be a big waste in the long run.

He’s had a billionaire rivalry with Selma Hayek’s husband who donated 100m Euro. It’s a checkbook battle and who gets the penthouse in heaven.

But money is money and hopefully it’ll go towards good in the hands of the French govt. the Catholic Church does not own French churches anymore.

I did find it amusing that only a short time after Selma's hubby donated €100m that Arnault donated €200m

I'm guessing there is an ongoing dick measuring competition between these two. Although I think Pinault wins it by marrying Selma.
