Coming around full circle with the new one that arrived yesterday from Ralph! The first "nice" watch I ever bought was a blue Omega Seamaster second gen quartz circa 2004 (quartz was cheaper and sounded easier to maintain than the auto when listening to a mall sales clerk talk about the auto, which was a completely new thing to me at the time--and I of course bought it online via "Authentic Watches" with no warranty to get a better price and save on tax!). It was my "one watch" for two plus years until this crazy hobby really took over.

This new version is the closest Seamaster to that 2004 Omega in looks, but after a couple rounds of steroids! Absolutely love the ceramic dial and bezel, and the bracelet adjustment is crucial (the lack of adjustment has been my biggest issue with Seamasters and Planet Oceans over the years). I still wish the bracelet tapered to 18mm and the way the bracelet drops from the lugs is a little strange, but this is a lot of watch for the price and one I expect to enjoy on bracelet and on various straps since it still has the 20mm lugs (the 21mm lugs on the more recent vintage seamaster remake was annoying).

That looks fantastic. (I still want Mark’s custom NAFT, though).

I wear the Ares all the time.
