Post by AtomicTom » Fri Mar 22, 2019 10:08 am

Have you guys seen that Junghans is Celebrating 100 Years of Bauhaus
with two limited edition watches at Baselworld 2019 by chance?

There is the Max Bill Automatic 100 Years of Bauhaus watch with
details like a 38mm stainless steel case, 300m WR, sapphire crystal,
matte silver plated dial with luminous dot markers, gray leather
strap, and self winding J800.1 movement.

which has a 40mm white gold case, 300m WR, sapphire crystal, a
polished white with luminous dots, and black leather strap with
the self winding J880.2 inside.

Damn, the only watches from Basel that sing to me. I’m a fan. I only wish the chrono was also in SS. Might just grab the three-hander.
It's a beautiful world! Gerald.

Why take something that looks so nice, and put a red date background on It?

Regular versions have been made for years without the red. Junghans is famous for Bauhaus designs and these versions are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus movement which was founded by an Architect whome i studied in college. It opened in 1919 and was closed by the Nazis. Note the red door. I love the date wheel.

Max Bill was a student at the school.

I like it. I wonder if they still have the Instagram influencer running their booth?

Was hoping you guys might like these ! :)

They both look really great, and the case-backs are out of this world cool right?! 8-)
Had thought they were almost Hamilton-like with the neat look into the movement
at first. But then see your post above Nick with the building, and the connection ! :o

Man oh man, that is too good ! Thank you sir, and thanks for your two cents guys !!!

Very nice! One or two times a year I add a Max Bill chrono to the Amazon shopping cart. Love the design, but not sure if I would wear it.

I’ve done that a few times too. My Speedy Pro holds me back. Very different watch, but yet occupies the same place in my small rotation.

Yeah, owning a Speedy is a problem... it will dissuade you from a lot of watches

So much bang for the buck, real pedigree, not super expensive (for now). #moonwatch

I try one on every time I'm at AD. Great watches but I just don't see wearing one myself
