Swatch Group and Baselworld

Post by Panerai7 » Wed Mar 20, 2019 7:02 am

So I must have missed it, where is Swatch showing their novelties now that they'd exited Basel?

Hoping to see the new Speedy Pro with new movement and maybe 2254 remake based on the new wavy bond case

The releases from Rolex were a wet fart, so it's Omega's year if they're up for it.

That's what I was thinking, Omega finally has a chance to kill R/T. Rolex isn't available for years, and Tudor is putting out Miami Vice wet dreams

Swatch has been solid, I'm betting what they put out is good. Tudor dropped the ball all they had to do was release more color ways of the 58 and be praised.

I might be the only one who thinks Tudor peaked with Pelagos as a revolutionary watch.

From a brand portfolio point of view the BB, Pelagos, Chronograph era was incredibly solid. They looked like they were on the verge of greatness. I'm sure their CEO felt just like the captain of the Titanic the day it set off.

Possible to agree with that unless you think the bb58 was new, I considered it a refinement and thus would agree with you.

The Sea Dweller that Rolex should have built.

I asked Brice to translate a transcription of a phone call between Rolex and Tudor after Pelagos came out:
Rolex - "Merde, WTF are you doing Tudor? You made a better watch than our Submariner and now you're putting our 70-hr movement in it?!"
Tudor - " We're so sorry, monsieur Rolex, we'll make something ugly next time, oui oui. Will an SKX mod work?"

Hahaha that isn't what Brice told me.

He said it went like this:
Rolex - "hey cocksuckers you are suppose to be licking the batter off our peckers and not banging us from behind!"
Tudor - "we are sorry but you got soft and we didn't know what else to do, maybe we can be the catcher next time?"
