Which watch do you feel will appreciate most in 10 years?
If you were to "invest" some disposable income on a watch today, wear it lightly and take care of it and hope to spring a profit in 10 or so years time, which watch would it be? A somewhat vintage Sub comes to mind but I'd love to hear input/opinions.

I'm certain that nothing I own is in this category.

It's a gamble I bought a lot of vintage watches but bought them because I liked them not as a investment but because the price was affordable. Just buy some thing you like how it looks the cool factor and what I mean by a gamble some went up in value big time some went up a little . I bought this for 2000 bucks got it as a retirement watch that was 5 or more years ago now look what they sell for insane was looking at watchrecon some dummy wanted 16000 for the same model 7021/0 and same year 1972 he will never get it a pipe dream. The vintage stuff I like now with the cool factor are not affordable any more dam I wish I bought a vintage Rolex GMT before the price hike .

I foolishly let those watches slide through my fingers years ago.
I have nothing of the sorts today.

I think a vintage Rolex Sub is probably the best choice, but with all "investments" of this type, it'll eventually get to be worth more and more to less and less until ultimately it will become almost priceless to almost no one.
If you ever watch those classic car auction shows on TV, you'll see have many of the classic cars brought across the block either fail to meet their reserve or sell for less than the owner was hoping for. You not only have the rare piece, you also have to find the buyer who wants it.
I just think financial instruments are just better "investments" than anything physical such as a watch or a car or something. Ultimately, for me, I don't see the point of owning something if I have to store it and can't use it.

Any modern Sports SS Rolex if bought at MSRP and haven't paid sales tax is guaranteed or at least to get your money back.

This is where I think I am headed, Chris. And I completely agree with your point of view. I will, however, be wearing the watch occasionally and will def not be putting it away as a safe queen.

I'm praying Grandpa's gold pocket watch comes back in fashion

It will be a black dialed Rolex Explorer II 16570 with lugholes and solid end links. Worth more without box and papers or all bracelet links.

Marrying Catherine Zeta-Jones probably helps.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2019 11:18 amI hope I have such good hair when I'm a 1,000 years old.
I don't know what it is about this movie. It's objectively mediocre, but whenever I come across it on TV, I can't turn it off.

Hublots. Specifically, the early models with carbon fiber dials and ceramic bezels, not the multiple iterations they spawned like ice bang, matte bang, finger bang, etc. Those are the ones to watch out for, imo.

whichever one you thought about buying, but changed your mind to get something else.

I believe it’s Matt bang, without the “e” on the end. Don’t forget that non-limited model; gang bang.blkgsl wrote:Hublots. You laugh, but I’m still not sure if a Matt bang is (a) Matt banging (b) someone banging Matt or (c) several Matt’s banging each other.
