Christopher Ward C65 GMT Pepsi
Re: Christopher Ward C65 GMT Pepsi
I actually kind of like that one. I still don't like the big "Christopher Ward" printed on the dial, but the overall design looks good.

Re: Christopher Ward C65 GMT Pepsi
Just been looking at this on the CW website. It's pretty nice actually. It's a good colour combo and the case is a wonderful slim profile. I have seen the case shape on the standard version before and it's very nice.
CW gets a tough time from some but they do make some good looking, good value watches

Re: Christopher Ward C65 GMT Pepsi
You know...this watch looks pretty good especially for what you'll be able to buy one for. I'd particularly be interested in if it's a quick adjust GMT hand (my suspicion) or if it's a true GMT. I'd try one out, never had a C Ward before.
Re: Christopher Ward C65 GMT Pepsi
Just minor changes and I'd definitely hit it.

Re: Christopher Ward C65 GMT Pepsi
That’s the best looking CW I’ve seen in years. Should be a hit.
Re: Christopher Ward C65 GMT Pepsi
Everything I've read states it is a 2893-2 clone, so I suspect it has the quick adjust GMT hand.Aaron Shapiro wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 7:19 amYou know...this watch looks pretty good especially for what you'll be able to buy one for. For multi-stop business trips I much prefer the quick jump hour hand, but for vacation type travel (extended period away from home) or for simply tracking GMT time as a constant for work reports (ie .mil) the 2893-2 works.
In the "affordables" market, I think Alpina is the only brand offering a mechanical with the jump hour complication.
Re: Christopher Ward C65 GMT Pepsi
That is a good looking watch, and CW does give good value for money.

I like it. Not a direct copy of anything, clear and clean design.

Re: Christopher Ward C65 GMT Pepsi
i think the new c65 vintage dive series may be the one, in some form, that makes me consider another christopher ward. there are a lot of things to like about the brand overall and i do think they represent good value. the last rebrand with the empty spot below the 12 just left me cold. the marker up there really seems to fix a lot of the dial balance issues and the rest of the C65 vintage is a good solid design. 41mm, 12.5mm tall, 47 lug to lug, all feel like a good size fit for me, too. plus microadjustable clasp on the bracelet.
Re: Christopher Ward C65 GMT Pepsi
That looks fantastic Greg, and like Bjorn pointed out it's not really a clone
of any one watch. It kind of takes you back, but is still somehow doing
it's own thing !
It's something how thin the bezel is, and sleek overall it makes the watch
seem. Just is beautiful really ! Thanks a lot Greg !!!

Swiss-made Sellita SW330 - a GMT movement only 4.1mm high - the C65 Trident GMT measures in at a sleek 12.05mm
I like everything about it except for the labeling. In person the labeling might not be a as noticeable. I really like the swoop down case design on it also. I hope they are not using some big ass adjustable bracelet clasp that is 6 inches long.

My watchmaker has shown me a SW200 and ETA 2824-2 under the microscope when were trying to fix a keyless problem. I can say that the SW's are not finished as nicely as ETA. And the parts we tried to interchange do not fit. So I do not know if I would call any of the SW's clones.

Well, maybe not true copies, but replacements for 2824-2's (SW200), 2892's (SW300) and 2893's (SW330).toxicavenger wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 10:08 amAlso known as the SW300.Ryeguy wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 7:36 amEverything I've read states it is a 2893-2 clone, so I suspect it has the quick adjust GMT hand.Aaron Shapiro wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 7:19 amYou know...this watch looks pretty good especially for what you'll be able to buy one for. The "clones" term was used by a couple other sites, so I used it here. I'll agree a true "clone" would allow parts interchangeability.

Re: Christopher Ward C65 GMT Pepsi
Unfortunately I can tell you the Sw200 and the Sw300 are not interchangeable at all. We ran into some issues trying to get parts for the SW movements' and tried to use the ETA versions. Not possible. I have seen all of the sites call them clones. I wish they were honestly. They would save me a lot of trouble.

here are pictures of the c65 bracelet clasp. looks like it's about as long as 4 links. not an exact measurement, but gives you an idea.toxicavenger wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 9:58 amI hope they are not using some big ass adjustable bracelet clasp that is 6 inches long.

Re: Christopher Ward C65 GMT Pepsi
I agree with you on this. Not having the screw down crown is one thing, but with no guards as well, I'd treat it as more or less a dress watch. I wouldn't swim with it, which is kind of my barometer for a "vacation watch", meaning a watch I'd wear pretty much 24 X 7.
Again, so close, yet so far....
