He actually responded to me on Instagram and said that he would do right by me and honor the transaction. I know I have learned one thing from this and that is to never use Venmo for these types of transactions no matter how long the person has been a member

You gotta use some common sense, not assume everyone is trustworthy, even on DWC. All I know is, it would take something pretty dire for me not to follow through on a commitment, like being in ICU. Even then, I'd do everything possible to communicate a problem.

Yeah, I've used unsecured methods of payment, but on a very selective basis.

I wonder if local LEO would knock on his door? Of course you need the address for that.

I’ve had LEO do just that when a custom knife maker tried to walk-off with my funds. Scared him enough to reach out and refund my money. Turns out the dude liquidated his shop due to a nasty divorce.

You might get them to go, but they won’t pursue criminal charges.

Let’s recap:

* He took your money and failed to ship the product.

* He failed to respond to your PM’s and emails.

* He eventually responded and acknowledged the situation, agreeing to “make it right”.

* He never made in right. No refund. No product shipped.

* He resumed ignoring you.

It all adds up to fucking douchebag behavior. When we consider this isn’t the first time, Robert Stoddard (aka: billwilson) deserves a permanent ban and a bad reputation.

It is interesting over on WUS forums there is an amazing amount of people trying to defend him and discredit me

They cannot seem to conceive of the idea that a long-term member would suddenly go bad. I agree but why hasn’t he popped on in the month or so and said hey guys my account got hacked or something

According to them not only did his account get hacked, his cell phone was cloned and his Instagram was hacked all in order to steal $225
