Seiko MM300 - Bracelet or Strap?

Post by Bradystraps » Sun Feb 24, 2019 4:50 pm

I have had my MM300 on it's bracelet since I've had the watch and I am considering changing it up a bit. It deserves a really nice, quality strap and I am looking for suggestions. I am leaning towards rubber but I am open to other options.

Of course, if you can include a picture... that is a bonus. Thanks in advance!

I honestly liked the stock rubber on it and would consider an ISO too. The Crafter Blue is nice if you don’t mind using the bracelet clasp.

Mine lived on isofrane. Balanced out that heavy watch head nicely.

Crafter Blue is the way to go if your want rubber. The OEM looks great, but it's just too long for us 7" wristed people imo.

Are you pleased with the CB's flexibility? I've heard some not-so-attractive things about how stiff they are and sit off the wrist. If they're a good option I'd love to get one for my Tudor as well.

I hated the CB I bought for my SRP, but love the one for the MM. I was most concerned with using the MM clasp, but it fits the CB better than it does the stock bracelet. In my opinion it’s the best rubber option for it. I’ll also occasionally use the uncleseiko 20mm “chocolate bar”. Makes the watch fell a little top heavy, and doesn’t feel as balanced as the CB, but looks really cool. ImageImage

I'm one of the guys who love it. Balances the watch very well imo, and I find it comfortable. I think it's just like anything else with personal opinions, it really depends on your wrist shape & size. I also got a great fit with the bracelet, whereas that's a complaint for some.

Crafter blue for sure. I actually like how it uses the original clasp, as it kinda balances it out a bit.

I’m leaning hard towards the Crafter Blue but would prefer to not take my clasp off my bracelet. Does the CB come with a standard buckle that is decent?

No, but your can use another 18mm Seiko clasp.

I liked the bracelet a lot, but the CB (with the ratchet clasp moved over) was fantastic. Takes a minute to swap with a toothpick ;)

I am 0 for 2 with CB straps. Neither the Sumo or SKX was comfortable on my wrist. They pinch the wrist and make the watch sit high on one side.
They looked fantastic, though.

Ugh, just trying to save myself the ridiculously high price tag of the Everest BB strap... 🤦🏻‍♂️

Hmmm... I'm worried now about the fit/comfort of the CB as I've read a lot of not great reviews. I'd really prefer a soft, comfortable strap with a nice brushed buckle. Perhaps the Hirsch Pure or alike?

I always wore mine on either the OEM rubber or a Bonetto Cinturini rubber.

Don't care for the style of the OEM and as much as I like the Bon Cin straps, I cannot stand the vanilla smell.
