any rose gold in the BOD?

Post by dinexus » Mon Feb 18, 2019 12:30 pm

Can't get over the fact that while I'll never own any of these watches, rose gold is really growing on me. Kinda depends on the brand, but those who get it right manage to produce something that looks more like virgin bronze than precious metal.

Anybody else got rose gold in rotation? Might start with two-tone just to toe in, but warming up a fresh 'Recon alert...

That's my favorite look – matte ceramic or black on RG. Thought you had two of these...? This is the only one that stuck around?

I’d like a RG day date.

Oddly enough, one silly thing that bugs me with non-white metal watches (either PVD or RG/YG) is the mismatch with my wedding ring, which is white gold.

I may end up having to get a RG ring also......

That bothers me too. My ring is RG and the color isn’t super stable. When it was fresh it was clearly RG, then it looked copper, now it’s a muted yellow.

This would drive me nuts, but after losing (and then finding) my nice wedding ring, I've just got a black silicone one for the everyday

Unfortunately don't have a rose gold watch Zach, but have always liked
them from a far really. Like you are saying a lot of them actually have
this cool almost bronze, or copper effect going on ! :o :)

It makes any watch look great, and can team up with any style at the
same time too sir. Check those out above guys ! ..Wow !!!

Yeah, I like that Rolex too. Chances are it'll never happen but, it is purdy :fro:

I'm not generally a fan of rose gold watches, but I do like the JLC Geophysic 1958 in RG

Love that new Rolex RG (everose) GMT--like Matt I'd need a new wedding ring--mine is platinum.

I’ve thought about getting a different ring when I had the gold sub.

Wife could care less what’s on my finger as long as I have the original.

The RG Yachtmaster is awesome. My wife and I tried on the 37 (?) and 40 mm versions in Vegas and might get those as his/hers retirement watches if they are still around when we punch out.

I'm waiting for that men's RG to tank in value but it hasn't happened yet. I really like it a lot (but not at five digit DD prices).

They’ve even steady for the ~3 years I’ve been watching and probably climbing with my AD since the SS shortage has reduced discount on PM pieces to make up for slow sales.

Off topic: I’m feeling like the SS Rolex shortage is intentional to increase both Rolex PM and Tudor sales.

i still have this RG magrette MPP. don't wear it because it's just too tall. so i'm not sure if i dislike the RG per se, i just haven't worn it enough to decide. it's been sitting in a drawer for a long time. so if someone really wants to use it to try out RG, just ping me :)

Is that plated, bronze, or actually solid RG?

I'm not sure there's a shortage. There are tons available in the gray market. I think a huge portion of them are being sold by people who resell for profit.

I love this model, but the price on bracelet is crazy.
