From an account started this month, with 3 posts... I'll wait until I see something a bit more concrete than that.

But hopefully not the case.

I’ll look to see if any Fossil watches show up on Walca’s web page.

It actually wouldn’t surprise me though. Alpina is owned by Citizen, and Glycine is owned by Invincta. There are probably a dozen more I’m not remembering. The brand name is worth something.

if it is they will spin it with this, "the US if different than the Europe/Asis brand so we are not affected"

Why would someone in Switzerland know anything? I'll pay attention when someone in China says it.

is it off base to think --- demand for current or recent models will drop....but demand and pricing for vintage Dox will increase, and continue to increase with this type of announcement?

Fossil has their earnings call tomorrow at 5. If they made an acquisition they would announce it then.

Well, their social media presence (which was pretty busy last year) has been radio silent since Christmas...

Definitely some big changes afoot.

Verified Badges. ... A verified badge is a check that appears next to an Instagram account's name in search and on the profile. It means Instagram has confirmed that an account is the authentic presence of the public figure, celebrity or global brand it represents.

I do not know off hand how long it takes.
The advantage (for a celeb at least) is you know it’s an authentic account.

It's a lame excuse – it can happen overnight for some celebrity accounts (it really just amounts to someone at Twitter or Instagram checking a box on the internals), though it can take a little longer for traditional brand channels who are usually asked to jump through a series of annoying hoops or pay a ton of money to have it done. Punchline is that you don't need to stop posting for 2+ months during the process.
