New Ollech & Wajs P-101 and P-104

Post by AtomicTom » Fri Feb 08, 2019 11:42 am

Just seeing these new watches from Ollech & Wajs. How about
you guys?

First is the P-101 which pays tribute to soldiers, and officers
who had OW watches during the Vietnam War, and is meant to
remind you of the MC Donnell F-101. Which set the world record
of 1,000 mph in 1956. Becoming the first service jet capable of
such a speed.

Just a few details include clean dial, and bezel with sleek looking
numbers, markings, and hands, 300m WR, sapphire crystal, hand
regulated ETA 2824-2 OW3, and leather strap.

Then you have the P-104 which was inspired by the Lockheed F-104
Starfighter, and also is meant to remind you of the cockpit's control
panel with everything from it's hands, to it's markings. Which are
also coated in Super-Luminova. On top of that, you have a slide
rule bezel, 300m WR, sapphire crystal, ETA 2824-2 OW3 mechanical
movement, and NATO strap.

I'd say the top one is more reminiscent of their old Caribbean models with the 12 digit bezel and the 12, 3, 6, 9 applied markers.

I think the renders look good, but I'm going to hold off on the "like" button until we can see some real world photos. The case on these looks pretty basic, which I guess makes sense in a military themed watch.

I guess for me, for $1,000, a little case machining detail is appreciated.

Hands are wrong. They need to be better differentiated.

Didn't know they were still making watches, always had a shitty website to try and order from, I wish they would re-introduce the original "Cougar", bead blasted, 39mm x 20mm lug width, had this one (not my pic) in '04, was around $200 on Ebay !

Just seen these over on Oceanictime. I like the look of both of these, got a good vintage feel. They actually look like proper vintage watches, if you get what I mean. Cant help wondering what the 101 bezel would look like on the 104...

Agreed. It is otherwise a pretty decent look.

also hand length seems completely arbitrary. Aligns with nothing on the dial.

Cool news isn't it guys?!! ..I was like Adam, and actually wan't sure that
O&W was still making watches. That's why when seeing them, had to post
the news about the new watches that are evidently in the works. :)

Really hope they keep adding more, and more models in the coming
year, or years to be honest. ..Very glad you are liking them !

THX for your two cents everybody !!!

Man, that is nice Paul ! :o There is something about the shape of both the
case, and bezel that really grabs you. It's especially noticeable from the side
with the different lines, and curves. ..Yet it's still nice, and traditional looking.

Really looks terrific ! Thanks so much for the news, along with pic !!!

P.S. always wondered the right way to say it too Chris, Todd, and Stu ! :)

I played with the Version Brice has and it’s really cool and well made. Glad to see the old brand revived. Their Sinn 103 version is still my favorite
