Christopher Ward C65 Trident Automatic

Post by gwells » Mon Feb 04, 2019 12:06 pm

https://wornandwound.com/introducing-th ... automatic/

So, a CW was my first automatic (vintage C8 pilot). that means CW has a little bit of nostalgia for me. i like a whole lot of what they've done, except for the damn logo at 9. i don't even mind the font, it's grown on me. but the location.

that said, i think they're getting closer with this one. at least they have the flag logo at 12 (even if it's stealthed a bit) and that helps it not be so barren up top and unbalanced. i'm starting to think about this one maybe at some point.

I like em. Stealth logo at 12 helps the overall package more than I would have thought.

Not bad and the dimensions look great.

Not bad, but the black date wheel on the blue dial is a bit jarring.

i totally agree with that. if it's going to not be white, make it match. if halios can do it, CW ought to be able to.

Disappointed they didn’t add a screw down crown on the auto.

Actually quite liking these, had not noticed the black date wheel on blue dial. If they did a no date and no writing at 9 version, would look a lot cleaner. Again, another CW that on first inspection looks great but dig a little deeper and same with rest of their watches, its not quite enough to take my $$

Very Oris-y. I think that’s why it’s a good looking watch.

I think these look great, with a very manageable size. Looking forward to seeing more pics as they release into the wild.

It's definitely one to think about Greg ! ..It's ridiculously cool !!! :headbang:

The whole look is perfect imho, and actually don't mind the different
things going on with the dial at all. ..It honestly bring more character
to the watch, and even pays tribute to a lot of vintage watches at the
same time. It's great ! ..Thanks so much for the look !!!
