new SEAL dark diver

Post by mikeylacroix » Tue Jan 29, 2019 2:51 pm

quick few pics
i like it so far
good built, wears well - comfortable caseback, shorter lugs don't dig in and hugs wrist well
the straps and clasps are out of the world
the bezel click is superb - solid, no play; winding action clean and it screws down well - i dig the no guards design
always a fan of these kinda hands, throw in some solid raised markers and I am all in
came with a bunch of stuff - nato, brown leather, canvas watch roll with ..5 slots?
mike is a good guy, always happy to support his work

I like this one a lot. It reminds me a bit of the Kobold Seal which is a good thing. Pricing is pretty competitive too.

There aren't many watch photos that immediately get me to google the brand and investigate a bit more. This one did.

I'm glad someone is ripping off Kobold.

Looking good. Not to mention the owner is legit, unlike the other dude.

They’re not ripping off anyone.

I’m digging it. Would love to see it on bracelet even if I prefer straps.

It's an improvement or new interpretation on the Kobold design

Stupid chunky bezel - check
Same FUCKING NAME - check

To be fair, it's a lot less shitty looking than the Kobold - so kudos to them.

The brand name is Seals. Yes, he calls it the dark seal for this one, I don’t believe he was thinking of kobold at all.
I see it as a stainless bezel Diver is all. Don’t see it the Kobold connection at all.

Meh. Only positive for me is the short lugs. If the Kobold Seal had short lugs like this Dark Diver, it would be a win.
It's a beautiful world! Gerald.

Really? Kobold Seal was the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw it.

That said, this is certainly a watch design used by a ton of manufacturers. Big 3 o’clock crown, chunky engraved steel bezel, etc. I could’ve said it was equally reminiscent of the old Boschett Cave Dweller.

I actually meant the Kobold comparison as a compliment. I think the dial on this is the nicest of the bunch of this style of watch.

Yeah, I don’t see Kobold at all. Boschett Cave Dweller is what I see. That said, it’s Meh. The smooth bezel one is better.

I prefer the one you own to the smooth bezel. The smooth bezel is a bit reminiscent of the Aegir CD-1, but I believe Aegir did the style better.

Like I said, I meant the Kobold comparison as a compliment. If I wanted this style of watch, I’d much rather support this guy than the fire engine madman.

hahaha cheers bud. never a dull day in DWC

the smooth bezel's brushing actually reminded me a little of the Jean Richard Terrascope
which I was quite fond of
my partial liking for it is probably due to that

Congratulations
I love these and I’ll most likely pick one up too, probably the naked bezel variant.
