Thanks Tom. The Heritage Pulsograph pushes my, er, button and the Minerva movement is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately I've heard several accounts of less-than-reliable watches coming from Montblanc coupled with absolutely horrendous customer service, so not sure anything from that company is in the cards for me.

Like the looks of what they are doing. The bronze Geosphere with the green dial looks super cool.

Thanks Tom- what's up with their branding? Is that a mountain between the Mont and the Blanc?

They are all beautiful to me.

That’s my primary complaint. Yuck.jimyritz wrote:Thanks Tom- what's up with their branding? Is that a mountain between the Mont and the Blanc?
Re: New Montblanc's at SIHH 2019
IMO ugly, uglier, ugliest.
Apparently SIHH this year was a race to the bottom to see who could make the most unattractive and shitty designs.
Now we just have to wait for Basel for Rolex to unveil all the newest models you’ll never actually be able to buy.
“Under our new model, we have revamped our dealer network to ensure that exactly none of our watches are ever available for retail sale. Anyone interested in purchasing one should reach out to one of our ‘trusted sellers’ on TRF who can source one at a 100% markup”

O.K. guys, just seeing this one today, and wanted to add it in.
The watch is the newest Montblanc 1858 Split Second Chronograph Limited
Edition. With just some of the specifications including a 44mm bronze case,
nice dials with snail shaped tachymeter scale, and two sub-dials, cool numbers,
and markers, cathedral hands, MB M16.31 movement, and leather strap.
Have a few pictures...

I don't mind the mountain the font used for the brand on the dial. Gives it a retro 50's look.
Re: New Montblanc's at SIHH 2019
I like the case backs much more than the front. How does Montblanc fair in pen customer service? Been thinking of an LPP offering from them.
Re: New Montblanc's at SIHH 2019
I don't like crossover products. I don't want a pen company watch just like I don't want a BMW pen or Rolex shoes or Omega sweater

Re: New Montblanc's at SIHH 2019
Is Montblanc a richemont brand? Because these look like designs that JLC passed on.
Re: New Montblanc's at SIHH 2019
Montblanc had Jerome Lambert for awhile (JLC's former CEO who's now running Baume & Mercier), which could explain some of the design homogeny. Used to be worse, honestly. I think Montblanc's current heritage offerings are some of their best yet, but fuck me dead – $20k+ for that Minerva.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Sun Jan 20, 2019 8:04 amIs Montblanc a richemont brand? Re: New Montblanc's at SIHH 2019
It's weird guys, actually totally forgot they were a pen company also.
Just have been seeing some nice watches from them every time there
is a watch show like this. The connection to Minerva is neat too.
They always seem so impressive, except on the price side.

nice, but too bad they're branded MontBlanc and not Minerva
