2019 Watch Goals

Post by logan2z » Mon Dec 31, 2018 2:52 pm

Now that we've done the ins/outs for 2018, let's hear what's on the list for 2019.

For me, I'd like to hopefully pick up an AP Diver. It was a toss-up between the Diver and the 15400 when I was looking a couple of years ago but the 15400 won out. But I've never stopped thinking about the Diver and this may be the year it happens.

BB58. Honestly think that could be my one watch. But I'm obsessed with gilt dial, big crown Submariners.

I think you will love it. It could definitely be my one watch (that or the Speedy).

For me, Hamilton Intra-matic chrono. Maybe another Oris 65 40mm. Then its "save up" time to see if I can pick up a Rolex for my 40th birthday (early 2020). But I'm all over the place on that one. Would love a Pepsi GMT but not sure prices will cool down enough for me. Some days is an 14060M or an Explorer I and other day I want another Explorer II Polar (miss mine a lot).

If I had the coin and the wrist, I'd love to try out an IWC Big Pilot. It's been on my radar for a long time.

Same as every year, sell more than I buy.

And, I'm sure, same as every year, I will fail. :)

I am still thinking a Hulk. If that sticks I will look at adding another AP and keeping that one hopefully, this time, maybe, hopefully.

Oh and I almost forgot, I need one of those tapatalk Rolexes!

Was that wrong? Should I not have done that?

Wanted one of these since they were announced. Never see them pop up on the forums when I have cash to spare though. Hopefully this year around tax season.

Will definitely be looking for a 116600 SD4K this year. I’ve been obsessed with and saving this watch for about 10 months now. The only thing that could mess it up is Zack’s SBDB008.

A couple on the radar:

Rolex Deepsea JC (new version with 22mm lugs) - the most likely next bigger purchase
FP Journe CB - love the look and idea of it, but not sure when I would wear it and the prices have gone nuts.
Seiko - a different solar tuna or perhaps a shogun
Doxa - another vintage Pro or the new sharkhunter Black lung

I should sell four or five watches to right size again, but like everything too much.

nothing on the radar this year. i have a couple of long-term thoughts, neither outrageously expensive (doxa, club dunkel), but also neither important to do any time soon.

For me, I am hoping stainless Rolex sport watches become more reasonable, at least on the pre-owned market. I'd like to add a black dial Sky Dweller and Pepsi.

Happy new year, DWC. To a great year ahead!

I’d love to snag one of the Sinn U1 Roberto Grün lime green dial watches. Other than that nothing on the radar this year.

I’m always mentally window shopping. This year could be any one or none of the following:

- Rolex 126660 D-Blue
- IWC Big Pilot
- AP 15400
- 1971 Red Sub
