Not bad. Looks similar to the last generation IWC Aquatimer.
Re: Ulysse Nardin 42mm Diver
my 1st thought as well.
Re: Ulysse Nardin 42mm Diver

Re: Ulysse Nardin 42mm Diver

I think that’s a good looking watch (minus the all blue one)

When I read SW300 “based” movement, I feel the same way. I hate when manufacturers decorate the movement and do some minor mods and try to charge in house movement prices.ericf4 wrote:i wouldnt pay that much for a Sellita based movement i dont think....

Re: Ulysse Nardin 42mm Diver
1) remove the coordinates from the dial
2) don't overcharge for a SW movement
other than that, its pretty nice

Re: Ulysse Nardin 42mm Diver
Not bad at all but at $6500=7500 USD too pricey for that SW300...
Re: Ulysse Nardin 42mm Diver
That would depend on whether that sweet jean jacket was part of the deal. An absolute steal if the jacket was bedazzled as well

That sweet jean jacket appears to be paired with - wait for it - jeans. It takes a special kind of man to pair a sweet jean jacket with a matching pair of jeans. We used to call that a "Canadian Tuxedo".

Re: Ulysse Nardin 42mm Diver
To be fair, how I feel about the movement depends on how much work they ddid to it. The Omega 1120 was an ETA 2892, but they legitimately did a bunch of work on it. On the other hand, while I get calling the LE "Blue Shark" because it's blue and everyone likes sharks, did they have to print that immediately above a silhouette of an ORANGE shark?
If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.
Re: Ulysse Nardin 42mm Diver
Incredulous blue shark is incredulous that you don’t know he’s a real thing. He’s also offended he’s been depicted in orange.Henryj wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 4:44 pmTo be fair, how I feel about the movement depends on how much work they ddid to it. As for the watch - meh. But that’s better than my reaction to most UN’s.

The more I look at it the more it reminds me of an $8-$1000 micro, not a $7500 luxury brand.
Is that a $30 mesh bracelet I see as well? That’s what micros do when they don’t want to pay for tooling for a bracelet.

Re: Ulysse Nardin 42mm Diver
Finishing, chamfers and casework certainly seems well above $1k micro’s but I would definitely prefer an Aquatimer at less $$. I hate the plates they are screwing to some of these LE’s.tattoo chef wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 5:51 pmThe more I look at it the more it reminds me of an $8-$1000 micro, not a $7500 luxury brand.

The value Tudor gives with its it’s in house movements (Silicon balance spring, 70 hr PR, etc...) I. Sub $4k watches makes models with mildly worked over ETA’s at double the cost hard to swallow.
Re: Ulysse Nardin 42mm Diver
Lazy uninspired design. As y’all already said, looks like a catalog diver with the UN name slapped on it. I much prefer the original 263-33 maxi marine diver.

That 'blue shark' is hot garbage, but I'd fuck with the others, derivative-designs-be-damned.
One thing the 'Dink didn't mention is that this movement (SW base and all) does incorporate silicon elements, making it amagnetic. Whether this is the hairspring or the escapement, the release doesn't mention. Still a worthy detail though – movement's likely received enough upgrades that it's far from a standard SW300.

Canadian Tuxedo is back in style, but needs to be different color jacket or shirt versus jeans. Don’t you read the AARP guidance?Ryeguy wrote:That sweet jean jacket appears to be paired with - wait for it - jeans. I can't find the article I saw but this pic should inspire you
