How about something from Spinnaker like the Hull maybe?

Mido looks to make some nice ones too...

Thinking some of these have to be out there which are used also sir.
Definitely Eric, looks like a special case/bracelet maybe with that one.

Starting to lean towards the SARB. Anyone know if this is a decent price? Anyone own one?

If he ever wants to move to a big company, I work for HDR on the architecture side and we're located in Clarendon. And we're busy as hell.deepcdvr wrote:Small company called 2RW

Search Watchrecon. Seems reasonable, but the same guys sold a BNIB one a few weeks ago for $380 (Recon shows he had reduced it to $380).deepcdvr wrote: ↑Tue Nov 20, 2018 12:08 pmStarting to lean towards the SARB. Anyone know if this is a decent price? Anyone own one?

i've always been intrigued by the casio oceanus
https://www.seiyajapan.com/products/ocw-s100-1ajf
titanium, sapphire, looks awesome, g shock movement, syncs with the atomic signal, solar powered
the only downside IMO are the proprietary lugs so you are stuck with the bracelet

Love mine. The proportions are right for this kind of watch and there aren’t any weird touches. It’s a solid watch for the money.deepcdvr wrote: ↑Tue Nov 20, 2018 12:08 pmStarting to lean towards the SARB. Anyone know if this is a decent price? Anyone own one?

Hey Paul I did not realize you had a post here, so here are a couple of pics of a nice one (to me at least) 41mm, Swiss made and very comfortable.

Folks - appreciate all the suggestions! I’ve worked a deal with Carlo and going to give the Bulova a try. At 41mm it’s the right size, has a bracelet, date , sapphire, etc... pretty much checks all the boxes.. Hopefully I’ll be able to deal with a non-black dial hehe

Re: Suggestions for inexpensive dress watch
I see some great suggestions, have a couple comments (surprise)
1. If your boy wants a good paying challenge in a very challenging environment, we are are in desperate need of good engineers that aren’t total retards.
2. If cuff clearance is an issue, move your own damn buttons. A bosun that can’t sew a neat stitch is an embarrassment.
3. Go with a nice diver, it says to the DC crowd “I may dress like you, but I am not like you.”

If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

Re: Suggestions for inexpensive dress watch
What he said. Even if you think your suits fit, you prolly need a tailor anyway. I miss my Hamilton BTW.When I used to wear a suit, I would go to the tailor to move the button of my left hand cuff to fit my watches... cheaper than a new watch.
Unless you want a new watch
