Christopher Ward C60 Trident Bronze Ombré COSC LE & More

Post by BacoNoir » Tue Nov 13, 2018 6:31 am

The guy who bought my Seaforth is a an active member on a CW brand forum and when looking at his references I came across the C60 Trident Bronze Ombré COSC LE model and thought it looked great!

Turns out they have a whole series of bronze watches and they do something I’ve never seen before - they offer them raw bronze or pre patina-ed, and with different strap options.

They also have a blue dial option, a GMT blue dial option and a small seconds/stick hand blue dial variation.

On top of this, I found out they offer a 60/60 warranty - meaning 60 day satisfaction guarantee and 60 month movement warranty. The ones that get returned in the 60 day period go to the clearance section on their website for a good discount. Pretty good marketing for a watch company IMHO.

Not until they fix that logo. My 2 cents.

Some of their stuff looks nice but I never get that "have to have it" feeling.

Totally with you on this one. Lots of nice and interesting pieces but never quite enough to buy one

Putting my dislike of bronze cases & Christopher Ward logo to one side, i love that leather texture looking dial. Not keen on those hands but they do look pretty good with that dial.

The only things that bug me are the SW200 movement (I've had bad luck with it) and the CW logo at 9 o'clock is boring and just out of place - would have been better on one line across the top or maybe two lines and centered at the top.

Who’d you end up selling to? I used to be pretty active on that forum.

Gary - he's been on there a long time and seems like one of their most active members. It was gaf1958 or something like that.

Seems like it for sure. Went out of his way to provide references as a reliable person to get me to go the PayPal route, then vetted me to save a little money going the wire route, but mucked that up, got the wire cancelled so I decided to accept PayPal from him after all. Not worried about that at all based on his forum history and active presence.

The logo placement is annoying but otherwise I’m a fan of what these guys are doing. I don’t have a trident anymore but I found it to be super well made for the price. The adjustable bracelet clasp they use in particular is something that doesn’t seem to get discussed much, but is extremely well executed.
