Certina DS PH200 Reissue

Post by hoppyjr » Sat Nov 17, 2018 11:44 am

First off; thanks for the lead Andrew.

Mine arrived today. USPS handled the U.S. portion of delivery. No duty charged.

First impressions, having recently sold my 2254; similar sword hand look, slightly larger but not bad at all. Smooth winding, bezel is almost perfectly aligned (definitely close enough for the price), minimal bezel play. Hands line up well. Domed Hesalite crystal is killer. Feels about like my Explorer II 216570 on the wrist.

Photos on my own Maratac Nato and a TopSpecUS Zulu.

Worth the $700 - easily.

Quick & dirty shots in post office parking lot.

Looks great Ed congrats
Doesn’t seem too long on the pics. L2L appears to be just fine, better than LLD to me. Love it

Not complaining but if I had designed this one I’d have shaved off a millimeter from the inside of each lug, then fitted 22mm straps. It isn’t a heavy watch so it does fine on a 20mm, but 22mm would be just perfect.

You did two strap changes in the post office parking lot? You're hard core.

Terry’s Toxic Royal strap works well on this one. The regular nato makes the watch seem more bulky side to side, but the Zulu seems out of character for a vintage-ish watch. The standard mil-style nato strap like a “Royal” is the perfect compliment.

No way to get this thing without an international wire transfer?

I love it, but every time I walk into my bank I’m embraced like Jesus when he got rid of the money changers in the temple.

Some banks let you do an international wire transfer online. Mine did.

Frankly it’s worth the effort if you do have to go in. Really nice watch for $700

My lume shots suck, but it’s bluish lume and had nice glow after about 10 seconds with my UV flashlight. I’ll wear it to bed and see how it well it holds overnight.

USAA does. Of course, I don't really have a "branch," so...

After a day and a half on my wrist, she’s running .7 spd. One second slow over 1.5 days. Damned impressive for seven bones.

I think I need one of these. Time to sell something.
