I don't have much sympathy for someone dangling a Patek out a car window.

It’s Manhattan. No pawn shops.

I’m calling bullshit on his story.

Isn't there a pawn shop right by Port Authority on 8th and maybe 40th?? I feel like I see the sign when I run out of the doors of that shithole as quickly as possible every morning.

If there is it is relatively new. Most of them disappeared in the 80s.

It may just be a sad cash for gold place. They always have suspect Rolexes in the window.

I remember my wife taking me to her home city Guayaquil, Ecuador and she said you don't leave the car window rolled down more than a few inches otherwise the kids can manage to slip there arms in rip watches and cell phones right out of your wrists and your hands. And by god I did not believe her but on our third trip years later a local forgot that rule and in heavy traffic I saw the kid reach in like a skilled Ninja grab the arm and leave with a watch. Before the guy even got out of the cab the kid was lost in the crowd. I still take my Marine Masters and such despite protests from the wife though to not bring them when we go.

Correct Todd, GEM Pawnbrokers. They have a store in Valley Stream, Long Island as well.
