I don't have much sympathy for someone dangling a Patek out a car window.

It’s Manhattan. No pawn shops.Ryeguy wrote:Search the local pawn shops.

Isn't there a pawn shop right by Port Authority on 8th and maybe 40th?? I feel like I see the sign when I run out of the doors of that shithole as quickly as possible every morning.

If there is it is relatively new. Most of them disappeared in the 80s.Chocodove wrote:Isn't there a pawn shop right by Port Authority on 8th and maybe 40th?? I feel like I see the sign when I run out of the doors of that shithole as quickly as possible every morning.

It may just be a sad cash for gold place. They always have suspect Rolexes in the window.CGSshorty wrote:If there is it is relatively new. I remember my wife taking me to her home city Guayaquil, Ecuador and she said you don't leave the car window rolled down more than a few inches otherwise the kids can manage to slip there arms in rip watches and cell phones right out of your wrists and your hands. And by god I did not believe her but on our third trip years later a local forgot that rule and in heavy traffic I saw the kid reach in like a skilled Ninja grab the arm and leave with a watch. Before the guy even got out of the cab the kid was lost in the crowd. I still take my Marine Masters and such despite protests from the wife though to not bring them when we go.
