Oris Sixty-Five RedBar Edition
Wow, this one is so nice! RedBar did a great collab with Oris.
Apparently only 100 were made and you have had to be a RedBar member.
The red-to-black fumé dial, vintage-toned lume inside rose gold-plated indices, and bronze bezel comes together so beautifully.

Absolutely stunning. Wish I could have purchased one. I guess I'm not a "member" of Red Bar, although I've been to the actual Red Bar.

Maybe someone can enlighten me?

Do people pay to attend and be in RedBar? I never really understood the biz model.

Re: Oris Sixty-Five RedBar Edition
Well they use to post photo's of the original RED Bar here at the forum it was just a large GTG with watches the bar they had it at was called Red Bar. Well that bar went out of business Adam kept it going at different location but the name red bar stuck. The old thread and photo's of it and some of the hot waitresses was fun to read. And I guess a lot of our east coast members use to go and even our Norwegian member Roar came to the USA on vacation with the wife and went to one. Dam I miss the old days of this forum.
Re: Oris Sixty-Five RedBar Edition
The name of the first place we used to meet was Red Bar. It was a small dive bar in Koreatown in Manhattan. After they closed we just kept calling it Red Bar because none of use spoke Korean well enough to pronounce the names of the new places we met. It has now been in the same place for quite a while, but the name is nothing as simple as Red Bar. Simple as that.sierra11b wrote:I've never understood why redbar.

No. You’d have to discuss the business model with Adam. I’d imagine the money comes from the watch companies. It definitely doesn’t come from anyone attending the GTGs.ericf4 wrote:Do people pay to attend and be in RedBar? I never really understood the biz model.

Isn't it just a now famous GTG that happens on a regular schedule? I would love to go.

Re: Oris Sixty-Five RedBar Edition
It’s actually gone international. Adam (and a few others) license the name to chapters all over the world.

Re: Oris Sixty-Five RedBar Edition
The watch is interesting, but I'm not certain I'd wear a red faced watch all that often. Black, grey, blue, and yellow are all OK, but for some reason red just doesn't get my interest.
On the other hand, I find it pretty interesting Adam still wears the HTFU bracelet when he hasn't posted or participated on here in years.

I love the red. I'd buy the Oris if I could.
It reminds me of this vintage Squale cased diver that I saw on ebay once.

Re: Oris Sixty-Five RedBar Edition
Here you have to turn in an application to get picked to attend. I think they do it in rotations. For example I get invited to the current one but I won't at the next one.
Ironic huh

If I remember correctly, the HTFU bracelet was kind of Adam’s thing.Ryeguy wrote: On the other hand, I find it pretty interesting Adam still wears the HTFU bracelet when he hasn't posted or participated on here in years.

Application to attend? Rotating invitations? Haha no thanks.
Does the application process weed out the assholes?

I like it.
But from what I understand you pay list price. I think it is 2100 or something around there. List price on an oris 65? Gtfoh.

Floating down canal
It doesn't use numbers or moving hands
It always just says now
