Can I pull this off?
I've always wanted one of these as a pure dress watch for suit and tie days etc. Could care less if it's refinished or not.
Two concerns:
1. 34mm X 42mm x 10 size. I'm such a dive watch guy that I'm not sure how a watch this small would feel to me?
2. My wife. She might just kill me if she finds out how much $$$ this is.
Anyone else have something similar to this in their collection?

Re: Can I pull this off?
I don't have one, but have always wanted one.
Re: Can I pull this off?
I have a 35mm vintage seamaster that's kind of like that constellation. I think my wrist is about 7.5 inches, prob a little less and it wears OK on me.
However the lugs and case shape are a little different and help it look better on me.

Re: Can I pull this off?
Beautiful watch but the 34mm case size is going to be hard to adjust to.
Re: Can I pull this off?
Unfortunately don't Todd, but wish I did.
Honestly, don't think the size matters at all with beauties like this, or the
one Ken is showing there ! ..They are just ridiculously cool watches !!!

Exactly. But I have been in a bit of a YOLO mood lately so... if the price stays within reason, I think I might just pull the trigger.mattcantwin wrote: ↑Tue Sep 25, 2018 10:37 amBeautiful watch but the 34mm case size is going to be hard to adjust to.
Re: Can I pull this off?
I've tried 34mm watches and, even with a 6.5' wrist, it looks small. I think this one might in particular given the narrow lugs.
Other than that, it's a really nice looking watch.

Re: Can I pull this off?
These Constellations are waaaaay more versatile than anyone gives 'em credit for. 34mm is pretty small, but given the thinness of the bezel, I'd say it probably wears closer to a 36. Looks to be in great shape too – I'd pounce before the 'Dink starts proclaiming this "the next Datejust."

Re: Can I pull this off?
Yes, I think you will pull it off - right after you get it
I don't know what size wrist you have, but 34mm is very small for a men's watch by today's standards. I have a 7" wrist and a 38mm IWC pilot watch that just works for me - anything smaller and I wouldn't wear it. The choice is yours, but I have a feeling you will regret the purchase after a few days of trying to convince yourself that it looks ok.

I have a 6.75" wrist, and a 34mm Omega from my grandfather. I'd love to wear it more often, but it's way too small.
Re: Can I pull this off?
I enjoy wearing mine and think it looks great. Then again I’m wearing a 36mm Explorer currently and think it’s great as well.

I have a 35mm Omega SM. I have an 8" wrist and am a big guy, you can imagine what it might look like on me, but I still wear it cause I really like it.
Re: Can I pull this off?
I can post wrist shots later
Re: Can I pull this off?
that's a nice example!
I got into this crazy hobby buying 50's/60's vintage Connies and Seamasters (only a couple $100 at the time) but soon tired of the smaller size, plus I really had no need for 'dress' watches... but if you're in a suit & tie alot, these do rock

that thing is gorgeous. and a fantastic bracelet.
can you pull it off? sure. it's all about attitude and how you feel about it. they can feel a little odd if you're usually wearing bigger divers. but i have my grandfather's/dad's omega, a 35mm deville, and a 35mm zodiac seawolf. they look fine on my 7.25" wrist to me. i don't wear my grandfather's watch that much because it's gold, and that's just not me. plus it needs a service. so it's relegated to special events, like my nephew's wedding a few weeks ago. but i wear the seawolf once or twice a month. still love the vintage wabi look. if my grandfather had gotten that piepan omega you're showing with the bracelet? i'd probably wear it a couple of times a month as well. will post a couple of pics from my phone in a few.

Re: Can I pull this off?
Smallest watch I have is a 38mm Sinn which I basically treat like a dressy watch for the office. I have a 6.75" wrist and would not go any smaller unless the watch had sentimental value.
Too bad because I really love the look of the 35mm vintage Seamasters.

6.75" wrist here. 114270 & 3570.50
This Constellation was my wife's grandfather's
On leather so it'll seem a little smaller

Re: Can I pull this off?
^^^ That Constellation is gorgeous, no question about it. But the side-by-side shot with the Speedmaster really drives home how small it and the Rolex are. The Speedy absolutely dwarfs the other watches and it is not what I would consider a particularly large watch. But if I owned that Constellation I would probably find some way to wear it, it is that beautiful.
Re: Can I pull this off?
That's exactly why I posted the Speedy because everyone has likely owned or held one at some point. I've owned a Speedy for years and had a holy moly moment putting it back on after wearing the 114270 for a week solid. It felt like wearing a 45mm PO. The 114270 actually wears similarly to a Mk XV.logan2z wrote: ↑Tue Sep 25, 2018 3:24 pm^^^ That Constellation is gorgeous, no question about it. 35mm looks too small on my wrist....except when I wore it with a shirt and jacket then it worked well.....I tried this one on a GTG earlier this year and loved it.

No date is the watch to have. Not sure if the constellation came in no date but the quick set date is finicky and getting harder to service. Handwinding is a joke as you know... Basically have to get it moving and wear to build PR or suffer sore finger tips, and this is coming from a Speedy owner.

34mm is no Bueno for me, and I'm skinny - YMMV

Re: Can I pull this off?
Same seller also has a Seamaster that is 36mm and the case is also 3mm longer. Might opt for that even though I absolutely LOVE the look of the Conny.
