A non-watch/make-it-a-watch thread. Best to all in the path of Hurricane Florence. I hope everyone fares well.

As for my "in the throws of a hurricane" watch, I'd wear this:

Now's the chance to test your 300m water resistance. Seriously, hope East coast stays safe

I'm 160 miles inland (central NC) - heavy rain and strong winds just started. This is going to suck.

Thanks Todd and nice watch

Just drove back from picking up Jade and Raven from college. Both ECU and NCSU have canceled classes. ECU ordered dorm hall evacuated today.
Just heard on the news that it may be headed more west so it seems it may worse than we expected earlier. But can still change.
My wife tried to get water yesterday but none left. She got some food. I have beer tho.
We’ll be filling up all four bathtubs just in case. Got candles. Flashlights. Wait and see now

Well, as of this am it looks like this bad boy might be coming into my neck of the woods. Gonna be an interesting few days. Governor cancelled school yesterday to get ready for all of the evacuees then rescinded after it looked to be heading north of us. I imagine he’ll rethink today. I live about 2 hours inland on the SC/GA border.

Lots of uncertainty. Looked like Charlotte would be relatively spared in some projections, but not in others. Now it looks like the storm is tracking South of us here in the Triangle. Expecting the worst, hoping for the best.

For those that want to track storms, this site is really good. It shows both the European and American models.

Walmart is always the best source of water. They seem to get constant deliveries right up until it is no longer safe for their drivers to be on the road. We had a few months worth stored by the time Irma hit last year.

Definitely am thinking about all of you guys, and hope this one somehow isn't as bad
as they are saying. Or takes a big U-turn back out into the ocean.

Honestly seems so difficult trying to figure out the exact path of these things. Am
hoping they are all wrong, and that all of you end up lucking out. Hope everyone
stays safe, and that you are able to stay in touch with all of us here.

Nothing's happening inland until later tonight. Looks like SC may take the brunt of this storm.
