I bought a cheap watch from a crazy man
Floating down canal
It doesn't use numbers or moving hands
It always just says now
Now you may be thinking that I was had
But this watch is never wrong

I don't think they could sell 500 of them at $6500 a pop in five minutes here

Not clear. It's not only available through the Hodinkee shop but from Omega Boutiques as well. I assume it's only the Hodinkee shop's allocation that's sold out (although I could be wrong).
Kind of cool but not $6500 cool IMO and not with the Hodinkee branding on it.

Love that case like the FOIS but it’s a lot of colors

Not even slightly interested in the looks of that one.
Way too many colors.

Re: Another Omega Speedy Limited Edition: Hodinkee 10th Anniversary Edition
I do like this model and have always liked the original. I also like the reason for choosing this model and the significance behind it. I had one in my cart for a few minutes wondering if I would regret not buying it like I do the Hodinkee Heuer Skipper (which I also had in my cart and didn't pull the trigger on ) I ultimately decided I could do a lot more with that money on a watch that I really desire more than this one.

I don’t like this one at all.

Gone in 60 seconds. Had it in my cart, but in the moment where I had a split-second thought ("I don't actually want this..."), they were gone. Thank god. Fuck hype.
Now the Skipper, that one I'm bummed I slept on.

The Omega web site says "Available only in U.S. OMEGA Boutiques.". It said it was also available in the Hodinkee shop when I looked earlier, so I think that does mean it's only sold out at the Hodinkee shop. Couldn't hurt to get your name on the list at a Boutique if you're really interested

Not bad, prefer the Ultraman to this, but not bad.

Re: Another Omega Speedy Limited Edition: Hodinkee 10th Anniversary Edition
So, take a perfectly innocent 1861 Speedy, paint it up like a triple date only without the functionality, and call it a win? Nah.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

Never liked the original. This one is even worse.

Re: Another Omega Speedy Limited Edition: Hodinkee 10th Anniversary Edition
I may be in the minority, but I'd hate to pay over $6K for a watch and have the Hodinkee name engraved on the caseback. Sure, better than being on the dial but I'd still hate it. I'd prefer it if they just put that on the box/paperwork and leave it off of the actual watch. Apparently it hasn't hurt sales of any of the Hodinkee LEs, though...
Re: Another Omega Speedy Limited Edition: Hodinkee 10th Anniversary Edition
I like that watch lol.
But I think Omega is now AP, circa 2004, and the Speedmaster is the new Royal Oak Offshore.

Got an email from the boutique where I picked up my Speedmaster and it sounds like they still have a few left.

Ditto. Pretty soon the “regular” Speedy will be rare with all of these “limited editions”.

I wouldn't hit that, and I'm not picky either.
