Vacheron Constantin Overseas Black Dials
Love the reverse panda chronograph, but $30K is pretty steep...
Re: Vacheron Constantin Overseas Black Dials
Agree, I think it's a good watch, but the regression from big date on the 49150 to this is a misfire from VC. Plus the ~35% price hike...I'd take a 49150 and call it a day. Speaking of which, anyone want to trade a 49150 for my 47040? :D

I like the dial on the chrono, but overall I think I prefer the older design. I almost picked up a silver 47040 back when you get them for $6K.

That's the one I was always after! Sadly, that was years ago, when I had more disposable income. These days I'm slumming it with Rolex and Seiko, and the Rolex is FS.

Price hike notwithstanding, I've always loved the quirky Overseas, but I can't unsee the over-application of the Maltese cross on the current gen.
Guess I have the nineties and its obsession with totems in the form of shitty tattoos and all-over print tees to blame for it.

In general I like big date complications (love my GO) but the font on the VC big date seemed like a poor choice and ruined the watch for me. Overall, I think the new Overseas is a much nicer watch, but the price hike is tough to swallow. That's what an in-house chrono movement will get you...

Yep totally agree. I don't care for the date font either - I prefer GO, Lange, or even Breitling big date fonts, but I think the overall appearance of 49150 is simply superb.logan2z wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 12:25 pmIn general I like big date complications (love my GO) but the font on the VC big date seemed like a poor choice and ruined the watch for me.
