I love everything but the sterile dial. I understand the history of it, but it looks like a replica.

Like with most PAMs I'd prefer the higher-end homage watches that Cesar owns. It's the only brand I feel this way about. The company he used for his one (or two?) could do this just as good for a fraction of the cost. Granted it's not a true PAM but I'm not really sure what that means anymore?

I get your point, though... Maybe an embossed logo on the bottom half of the dial but in black to match the dial.

I like this one! 44mm, DLC Ti case, and I think the blue hands / CA dial work. I’d put it on a regular strap, rubber or even a NATO. Wonder how they will be priced used?

Not really sure what you mean by this. A true PAM is one made by Panerai

I want to love Panerai again but they remain in the “friend zone”. I’d own another but can’t bring myself to put the cash down for it. Not sure why. Maybe that ship has sailed.

I think you're letting the naysayers get inside your head. If you like the watch then get one. They still hold their value pretty well as far as I can tell (if that's a consideration).

Maybe RMM’s 682 and I’d wear it on a Zulu.

This. I know 'bla bla history' but this looks like a $100 faux-mage you can get on eBay. Plus I hate Bund straps. And I also hate PVD.

I'm with you on the Bund strap. But I don't understand these 'homage'/''replica' statements. It looks like a cheap homage because people have ripped off the design and made cheap homage watches based on it? That's like saying all Rolexes look like fakes or cheap homages because there are a million fakes and cheap homages in existence.

It’s not their fault the sterile dial has become associated with knockoffs, but it definitely has.

I like a Cali dial (in a steel Radiomir), and I love a pvd Luminor case, but I'm not really loving the combination.

Some watches don't need the DLC treatment, and this is one of them.

It's one of those "I don't know how to define it, but I know it when I see it". It just looks fake and cheap to me. May not be, but that's my take and impression.

Same way I give zero fucks about the history/pedigree/etc. of something in my buying decision. I don't buy watches because of "historical significance". This may be super accurate and throwback and whatever, but to me it's butt-ugly.

It’s not accurate at all. There was never a Luminor Cali dial.

Like it--but would put on a different strap. Still feel that if I buy any Panerai it would be a 682.
