MKII and TOXICNATO??

Post by namor » Tue Jun 12, 2018 8:03 am

Did Bill Yao just announce that MK II is promoting Slim Fat strap bars made by toxicnato? It is the perfect way to put a toxicnato on a gen 3 Paradive. And the bars sound great.

But seeing Bill and Terry in the same sentence is totally disorienting to me!

I got a good chuckle out of that.

How many slim fat bars will he need to take a deposit on (without delivering), say over the next 5 years in order to take that dream vacation?

I actually delivered, that is what is crazy.

I guess he might be using these spring bars on the Fat Bar Edition Paradiver 3? I don't really know.

Not sure I would like to associate my name with Yao, Terry.

Hope he paid you in advance.
He definitely did, or else I wouldn't have sent them.

I don't think me selling spring bars to him was association though.

so I was in a discussion on wus and there were a few guys involved. it was a discussion regarding best sub homage and it went the mkii route some discussion was had about why mkii takes5-8 years to deliver a watch(or not deliver), someone defended mkii vigorosly and said mod's were watching, overnight the posts were all deleted. odd. nothing bad was said just questioning the reasons behind the process.

I don’t think it’s odd. He pays them for his forum there, which makes it hard for them to disavow the content in the forum. Any posts which demonstrate that any reasonable person would see his business is a Ponzi scheme acts as evidence that they are - witting or unwitting - accomplices in the fraud.

I understand but this was in f74 dive watch forum not the mkii forum, and it wasn''t anything except the painful truth that's simply out there, nothing else.

John what Seth is saying is the forum as a whole is paid for by those companies. So WUS is protecting their investments by deletion. The same has been true for a long time for Kobold (at one time) and definitely Doxa.

Hi John - welcome to DWC! This is the "real" dive watch forum - well, at least it is made up of the guys who made the Dive Watch sub-forum an interesting place to visit years ago.

Regarding MKii, as I mentioned to you earlier, the mere fact the brand needs such a heavy amount of censorship tells me everything I need to know about the company. WUS certainly is complicit.

Everything you said about the 8 year wait on a watch and I said about bezel click springs and non-transferable warranties is 100% accurate. We didn't bash MKii as a brand or question their business practices. We simply stated factual information the OP should factor into the MKii recommendation. Heck, if I were thinking of buying a second hand MKii watch they would certainly be points I would be considering.

To Seth's and Terry's point, our facts do not align with the bought and paid for narrative, so they were deleted.

Thanks for the truthful talk, I have found it frustrating not being able to say simple stuff like that. Glad I found you guys here. I understand the protective nature of the wus brand and the mkii brand. I just find it disingenuous you are able to discuss other brands openly but not that one. It's sad but what can you do I'll move on. Looking forward to some more frank and open discussion here.
