Rolex watch test
Rolex watch test
I was going through some old photos, and thought you might enjoy these, circa 1984. We strapped some Rolex Submariners to the manipulator of the Deep Rover 1-person submersible and "tested" them to 1000m. As I recall, the 300m ones came back bent and/or flooded, but the 1000m ones were fine.

One of my buddies is an ROV pilot he strapped his Deepsea to his ROV and sent it down to about 3000M I’ve been trying to get the video footage of him they put a Casio on it as well that come back totally fooked as you would guess but his Deepsea he just took it off and strapped it back on his wrist... Cool pics...

Re: Rolex watch test
Very cool.
I went down in a submersible when I worked for the Navy. We weren’t sponsored by Rolex so we attached styrofoam coffee cups to the outside. When we surfaced they were the size of a shot glass. Here were are right before we submerged:

I have some pics somewhere but not sure where. Pretty cool what the depth pressure can do...

Those are the most bad-ass watch pics I've seen in a while. Thanks for posting!
