New Tag Heuer Autavia Hodinkee LE
A pretty nice modern alternative to a vintage 'Orange Boy'...

It's very cool. My only issue is that these Heuer 02 based watches are pretty thick. I loved the Jack Heuer 85th birthday panda dial I tried this weekend, but the thickness compared to the Speedmaster I was wearing at the time was a bit of a deal breaker for me.

Looks great. I’m sure it’s too big and shiny for me.

A friend of mine just received the Siffert LE. He has pretty small wrists and it works fine for him, but it's not a small watch and is on the thicker side.
Re: New Tag Heuer Autavia Hodinkee LE
I can't tell with that bracelet is this the same case as the Siffert and the the regular one? The regular one is nice and compact on my wrist anyway.

I think they all share the same case.Panerai7 wrote: ↑Thu May 31, 2018 2:28 pmI can't tell with that bracelet is this the same case as the Siffert and the the regular one? The regular one is nice and compact on my wrist anyway.

this one's not as 'orangey' as the original, and I also think these re-edition cases are too big and thick...
unfortunately, TAG doesn't seem to get much right in the re-issue dep't imho

I like them, but I like the originals better. As Peter mentioned, the Orange Boy had more color.

Great looking chrono, probably the best possible date position for that layout.

The comparisons, with some interesting observations on the market:

When I mentioned that I like the original better, I meant that I prefer the vibe of an earlier, vintage Autavia as opposed to a new one. The new one is a heckuva sharp watch, though.

The original is awesome---the Hodinkee watch is still nice.....A bit pricey but that's Hodinkee...

I, too, would love a vintage Rindt. But the regular production Autavia is excellent, as far as I’m concerned. It is thicker than it should be, but it wears really well. Art is working with mine to create a proper Rindt strap. Can’t wait to see it!

I don't know while I think the re issue is a great looking watch, why not buy a Viceroy Autavia, they can be had in nice condition for less than the reissue:

Re: New Tag Heuer Autavia Hodinkee LE
I'd probably opt for an original too (can't see spending $6K on a Tag) but some people prefer a modern watch because of serviceability, parts availability, water resistance etc. Having owned some vintage watches I can't say I blame them.caesarmascetti wrote: ↑Sat Jun 02, 2018 4:20 amI don't know while I think the re issue is a great looking watch, why not buy a Viceroy Autavia, they can be had in nice condition for less than the reissue:
