New JLC Polaris Geographic WT LE
Re: New JLC Polaris Geographic WT LE
Love the dial texture and blue to black transition.

WTs are busy in general but I think they nailed this one. Love it.

Busy and two non-screwdown crowns.

And the strap? Is the Tits and Ass edition?

This is right up my alley, but no way I'm forking over for an LE. I love it though.

Interesting strap release mechanism. I don't think I've seen it on a JLC before.
Re: New JLC Polaris Geographic WT LE
I miss my JLC EWA that had the killer strap release where the lugs actually slid open to release the strap.....

Re: New JLC Polaris Geographic WT LE
Yeah, but the JLC's are curved. I'm sure that requires a proprietary process and special expertise to executeJP Chestnut wrote: ↑Fri May 04, 2018 6:50 amMy wife's $500 Hamilton has the exact same thing. Here's the ebay special version
Re: New JLC Polaris Geographic WT LE
Way too busy for me, I figured Wu would love it since he likes complications
I just want to tell time, maybe a simple chrono to time a few minutes, date is optional.
Even though I'm waiting for Pepsi GMT even GMT function is useless for me personally

Re: New JLC Polaris Geographic WT LE
GMT is super useful if you travel. World time is a cool complication, though every one I've ever seen results in an ugly watch which is too large and/or has a cramped dial.
Re: New JLC Polaris Geographic WT LE
I find World Time is becoming more and more useful as collaboration over remote sites becomes easier and easier. I routinely find myself working with people all over the globe within a single day, and it's kind of nice to know that it's 11 PM in Sydney before giving someone a call.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Fri May 04, 2018 8:12 amGMT is super useful if you travel. That’s a good point. If I were going to get one, it would be your Nomos.matt.wu wrote: ↑Fri May 04, 2018 10:12 amI find World Time is becoming more and more useful as collaboration over remote sites becomes easier and easier. Perfect explanation why you would personally benefit from this watch thenmatt.wu wrote: ↑Fri May 04, 2018 10:12 amI find World Time is becoming more and more useful as collaboration over remote sites becomes easier and easier. Re: New JLC Polaris Geographic WT LE
Unfortunately, though the name tries to imply it, the Nomos is just a GMT. It's not a worldtimer.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Fri May 04, 2018 10:15 amThat’s a good point. I actually think that Patek sucks. Those dinky hands on a super buys dial... it's hardly a watch
Also, that guy's hand/wrist combo is really odd. Like a man's hand on a little girl's arm.
Re: New JLC Polaris Geographic WT LE
Been awhile since I checked JLCs website. Those Polaris no dates are sweet! Look like they're priced nicely
