Lug Screws

Post by VA Diver » Sat Apr 14, 2018 3:54 am

Hey guys, I need to pick up some lug screws for my Crepas Tektite. I can get some from Amazon but haven't purchased these before and wanted to get input on quality. Is a lug screw a lug screw or are there better sources than Amazon? Thanks.

Are you sure they are the same?

No but they are 22mm stainless steel and my lugs are 22mm apart. Seems straightforward enough but I’ve never purchased lug screws and have been around long enough to know things can be trickier than they seem. I appreciate a nudge in the right direction.

Stupid question, but have you tried Crepas? Assuming they'd sell you the screws, you'd know you're getting the right ones.

Chances are the Amazon ones are for Panerai. Contact Crepas and get the correct ones.

Definitely from the manufacture. Because the bars online might not have the same thread pitch as the Crepas.

CREPAS sent me a pair of lug screw bars accidentally a few years ago. I have no idea what model they go to. I'll be back in the office on Tuesday and ill measure them. If they fit, I'll mail them to you.

I've got a new pair that I had as a backup when I owned the Tektite several years ago. PM me your address and I'll get them out to you on Monday.

Definitely contact Crepas. You need to be absolutely sure that you have screws with the correct thread and thread engagement. If you ever end up with damaged threads, the inexpensive solution is to replace the screws with spring-bars.

You ever find those screws? I just measured the pair I have floating around my watch box. They're 28.41mm long and 1.58mm thick.

Yes, thanks. I did score a set courtesy of Brian; he's a solid dude.
